Hello Canadian Scrapbookers!!!!!!  It is my extreme pleasure to join you on this lovely Tuesday to share a little inspiration with you. If you know me at all from the magazine, you know me more as a writer than as a scrapbook designer, and true to my role with the magazine, I have some words to share that I hope will inspire you every bit as much as the scrapbook page that I will share with you! Here’s the thing. I have had a self-imposed creatively dry spring and summer and have not touched my scrapbook supplies since about January.  I am pleased to say some wonderful things have happened in that time. My family decided to build a new home and I pulled back from my work with the magazine to focus my energy there. I am a VERY messy scrapbooker and once we had our house listed I…

Did you know we started offering FREE cut files this summer? Sue Sykes designed these fabulous cut files for our readers. They can be cut with many die cutting machines on the market that are able to cut using an SVG or Studio file. I thought we should share them again and encourage you to use them! These fun designs will be great for summer fun and winter getaways! I played with Sue’s third cut file, an inspirational quote that spoke perfect words to my graduating son’s picture. I played with the file a bit to change to word sizes and placement. I believe most programs will let you do this. It took some ungrouping and regrouping of letters, but very doable! I hope you take the time to download these wonderful files, they are yours to download and use for FREE! SUPPLIES: Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock, Kaisercraft patterned paper,…

Have you seen these beautiful intricate dies from Spellbinders?    They are just gorgeous, and with a few little tricks, easy to use. I absolutely love this little die called ‘Cattails’.  Although I have to say, I’m a prairie girl, and while I’m sure the die could look like cattails, to me, it looks like wheat.  So that’s what I used it for.  Stalks of ripe wheat, blowing in the breeze. The first time I tried using this die, I discovered it was not quite as simple as all of the other Spellbinders dies I have used over the years.  Because it is so intricate and highly detailed, I had a few issues with it cutting all the way through, and then had trouble actually  getting the paper out of the die.   I had a quick look on the internet for some suggestions on how to make it easier.   I found…
