Good Times with Vicki Boutin for American Crafts

Hi, there everyone, Nathalie DeSousa with you today with a very fun and colorful Christmas layout that celebrates those Sweet Good Times the season brings. For today’s post, I wanted to work with lots of colors to document a picture of my kids building their gingerbread house. So, I pulled my Vicki Boutin mixed media products and started working on the background for this page. It all started with a foundation paper that had been gessoed; I played with some Vicki Boutin Art crayons to create the watercolor background on the page. The color combination was inspired by the mints that are slowly showing around our house lately. While the background dried, all the gingerbread houses were cut from Caramel colored cardstock using a cut file from Handipaper, and then backed with white mixed media paper. Autumn Fun by Nathalie DeSousa

Hello there! Nathalie DeSousa with you today with a new project that celebrates Fall and it’s glorious colors. It is not a secret that Autumn happens to be my most favorite season. It is the cozy feeling, the clean cool air, the beautiful nature, and of course the phenomenal colors. So, I combine a few of my favorite Fall feels with some Vicki Boutin for American Crafts products in this new page call Autumn Fun. Fall Sunsets are some of the most beautiful, so I borrow the colors to create the background for this page. Well when we think Fall, we think leaves, so I used one of Vicki’s new stamp and die sets (Shine) to create the embossed leaves in the background, and then used her Watercolor set to recreate the sunset on the background. Hi there! Nathalie DeSousa with you today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magzine blog to bring you a bit of inspiration using Vicki Boutin for American Crafts paper collection and mixed media products. We have been enjoying beautiful and rather warm days here in Toronto, and one of our favorite things to do on days like these is to go out for walks around our neighborhood. Simple Stories Bliss Collection

Hi there! Nathalie DeSousa with you today sharing my first blog post as part of the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine team. I am very humbled and excited to share a bit of my work with you all, so what better way to show you my style than to create a 12×12 scrapbook page that combines a bit of mixed media and the beautiful Bliss Collection from Simple Stories.All those beautiful and soft colors in the collection are perfect to document spring and new beginnings, so I pulled a cut file from the Silhouette library, and backed it with papers from the collection.To add dimension to this page, some Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares were used to attach the cut out to the background. A bit of distressing on the top edge of the page provided the perfect place to add a small cluster of embellishments.Some of the floral motifs…
