Hi all,
I look at this picture and I see my daughter’s energy explode off the paper. I see fun. I see beauty. I see youth. Most certainly, I see happy. And that was the inspiration for my layout this month.
I started out with a 12×12 sheet of the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Paper by Stampin’ Up! It has a glossy resist pattern that I thought could be fun. (Side note: This is one of the exclusive Sale-a-bration products that can be yours with a $60 order)
In my typical lazy style, I decided to “see what happen”
I squeezed some refill ink over the paper. Yes, it did go through the paper because I didn’t want to apply a layer of gesso over top of the glossy resist… it certainly wasn’t my smartest idea. After I realized that this wasn’t going to work without watercolour paper, I grabbed a baby wipe and moved the mess around.
You know what? Crazier things have happened and this worked out.
So if you learn anything today… just… “see what happens.”
Next, I laid my picture down and tossed elements of the Artisan Embellishment Kit over the page. Lately, I enjoy using the whole package of embellishments. That didn’t quite work out this time but the effort was there.
As always, I like to layer and machine stitch. Uh oh. I stamped upside down… that was a mistake. Yes. It “just happened.” And that’s why, I just re-stamped over top of it. Things have a way of working out sometimes.
I wasn’t quite ready to go to bed or put away my sewing machine.
While I was stitching the vintage tea lace doilies to the cotton white ribbon, I cut out the “happy birthday” text out of my E-Cutter. Two Birds. One Stone. Thank. You.
This banner was easy and very cute. Why not try it for Easter?

You made my day when you stated “just happened”. I don’t know how many times I’ve made mistakes and thought, Oh NO! do I have to undo, or start over? it is amazing how creative you can become and think outside the box. Love the layout. Thanks for sharing your talent and story.
