Hi Friends! It’s June and that means that Stampin’ Up! has released a brand new catalogue. It’s something I look forward to every year. I love looking at the new products and admiring the ideas inside the crisp pages while enjoying a hot cup of coffee out of my favourite mug. Armed with a sharpie and a pen, I check off products that I already own and create a list of “needs”, “wants” and “maybes” inside my bullet journal. One of my “need now” items is a product bundle called Birthday Delivery which includes a stamp set and a matching die.
I have been swooning over the images in this set for months. There are plenty of images on the co-ordinating paper, as well as the stamp set but today I am focusing on this little girl. When I saw her I immediately thought about my mother… She certainly taught me how to work hard for what I want but also that taking time out for friends and family is just as important. We share the same nose, the same humour and same love for garbage day. The list goes on. Today’s card is a birthday card just for her.
Firstly, I stamped two little girls on water colour paper along with a the image of the small bouquet of flowers. Using my Stampin’ Write Markers and an aqua painter I coloured the images. I hauled out my Big Shot and quickly die cut the girls with the co-ordinating Birthday Friends Framelits.
Next, I grabbed some delicate white doilies and laid each of the girls on one. This continues to be a favourite way of mine to create a soft or delicate feel on a card.
I do this often. I almost always work on a couple cards or projects at once. It makes for one huge mess, I can tell you that.
The Wood Textures Designer Series Paper 6”x6” stack is also a new product that is a must have item in the new catalogue coming next month. It is jam packed with a different variety of wooden backgrounds. This grey background was perfect.I didn’t want to scare all of you with my sudden love of colour so I set out on a quest to make a multi-layered white card.
And that’s when I saw it. The perfect thing I wanted to say to my Mom out of the Oh So Succulents stamp set.
“Because of you, I am me.”
So true and so perfect. Before I leave you, I want to show you something…. Look. That is a die cut. The framelits that co-ordinate with the Birthday Delivery stamp set also co-ordinates with the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper paper.
Boom. Microphone drop.
Yup. That’s exciting stuff.
I can’t wait to show you all my new fun products! Make sure to get a catalogue from your local demonstrator. If you are in Canada and do not have a demonstrator, contact me to get a catalogue today.
Until next month,
Cathy
