Hello everyone, Cathy Caines here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.
We must celebrate!
Indeed we do! We have many things to celebrate including the carry over of the Celebrate You Thinlet Dies into the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Since it’s introduction in the Sale-a-Bration catalog, I have made too many projects to count with these thinlet dies. When I heard they would carry over I was over the moon!Today’s projects were created combining the Celebrate You Thinlet Dies as well as the sans serif sentiments of the We Must Celebrate Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. I love mixing and matching different stamps and dies.
To create the above card, you must first make the multi-colored background. With your Aqua Painter, dip each colour into the refill ink one by one resulting in a multi-colored wash. I would recommend drying each colour with a Heat Tool to avoid any muddled messes.
Next you will cut out the word ‘celebrate’ using the Celebrate You Thinlet Dies out of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. To achieve depth, be sure to pop up the card front. As always, I like to add the Irridescent Sequins to finish off the card.
On both of the cards today, I’ve used the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool on Basic Black cardstock to create the sentiments. I love the look that this achieves!
But the star of the show is the ombre water coloured die cuts. Begin by cutting out the sentiment ‘amazing’ and ‘you’ from water colour paper using the Celebrate You Thinlet Dies using a Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Similar to the card above, use the Aqua Painter and dip it into Bermuda Bay Refill Ink for the word amazing and Mambo Melon Refill Ink for the word you. You can create an ombre by being aware of how much color you apply. How fun is that?
I finished off this card using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder background, as well as some of the Irridecent Sequins.
Thanks for dropping by to check out my project today – have a wonderful day! Cathy Caines, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator
