Happy Tuesday everyone! Kerry Engel here today with a little project here today featuring the Candid Moments stamp set by Pink & Main. Tags have had an enduring appeal for me. I always have a stash on hand to attach to a gift or add to a scrapbook layout.
As a camera nerd I’m always drawn to stamps that showcase my love of all things ”lens-y”, so of course I needed the “Candid Moments” stamp set from Pink & Main.
The doodles incorporated on a “Candid Moments” stamps gives them a boho vibe. You can also purchase corresponding dies which helps to speed up your crafting. These camera stamps are not huge and I wanted to showcase the details so I tried something a little different. I normally stamp in black and then colour in the stamps but this time around I took a completely different path. I stepped outta my craft-fort zone.
I stamped my images in different shades of Ranger Distress Oxide Inks in blue on coloured cardstock. Very daring, don’t you think? And instead of colouring the entire thing I only coloured in certain elements with a Ranger white opaque pigment pen.BAAM! It just brought the design to life. Of course, I needed a bit more bling so I covered the white with Ranger Stickles, glitter glue. It’s so simple yet its impact is very powerful. The area where the glue is put becomes textured and iridescent.
My tags were cut from Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock using a Sizzix tag die. The Super Stock is an awesome platform for inking and stamping. It’s a 130 lb paper that is ideal for inking, painting, and texturizing. The weight makes it perfect for tags, they are very sturdy.
I blended the Ranger Distress Oxide Inks on the tags. To get the yellow splashes on the tag I smooshed some ink onto a non-porous surface and sprayed some water onto the ink. Then I loaded up an old stiff paint brush and flicked the ink into the tag. The Oxide Inks give the tags a lovely almost suede-like finish. I love them. Using the same Oxide Ink in blue I stamped cameras directly onto the tag. I also stamped the sentiment in blue on the bottom corner. I coloured in elements on the camera and the sentiment with my Ranger white opaque pen and drew some white stars.
I clustered the small stamps for a bigger impact on top of the tag using Glue Dots Pop-Up Dots. Glue Dots Pop-Up Dots are double-sided adhesive dots that are super sticky… an important feature when putting together tags. Your elements stay where you put them!
Thanks for joining me today and be sure to check out these products.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
