Hello scrappy friends! Tracy here, and today I have a pretty little layout to share featuring Simple Stories, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and an extra-large photo. Here are all of the details. Every once in a while I find a photo that I just love. A beautiful way to showcase photos like these is to print them as 8×12’s. An 8×12 is a full-frame image, the same size ratio as a 4×6. Printing it this size will not only fit perfectly to our 12×12 layouts, but it also won’t crop off any of your image. I used the Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse Collection including patterned paper, chipboard, stickers, and Bits & Pieces. I stuck everything down using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Foam Tape, E-Z Runner Grand, Thin 3D Foam Squares, 3D Foam Squares and Adhesive Dodz. I used any old colour of cardstock at the background, a base for my layout. This is where I have a little fun and try and find the wildest colour of cardstock I can find. No one will ever know.
Using the E-Z Runner Grand, adhere the 8×12 photo to the right-hand side of the layout. Then I cut a piece of patterned paper 4×12 for the other side and created a layered border strip. I made this border strip dimensional by using Crafty Foam Tape. I added some narrow strips of patterned paper and a few little embellishments right on top of the photo in its corners. Then I started laying out the embellishments that I wanted up the side of the layout. Once I knew which embellishments I was using I started adhering them down. I want to get lots of dimension, so some I adhered straight to the background, some I popped up with Thin 3D Foam Squares, and some I added suing regular 3D Foam Squares. I added a few buttons here and there using Adhesive Dodz Small. That’s all there is to it!
Thanks so much for stopping by and maybe next time while you’re printing photos, you’ll dare to go big!
