Happy Tuesday! It’s me, Kim [instagram], back on the blog today with a scrapbooking layout inspired by Stampers Anonymous Pressed Foliage stamp set and our September Sketchy Challenge. Autumn is hands down my favourite time of the year. I love the colours, the crisp air and the cozy clothes that are all part of the season.
However, as I sit here typing up my blog post, my world has been blanketed in frozen, white crystals of snow..NOT my favourite season! *sigh* At least I have documented the loveliness of autumn and can enjoy the memories through my photos. This season will bless my world again in 2020!
My layout started as a simple white piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock. This smooth, bright white, 130lb weight card stock is the PERFECT foundation for cards and layouts. Your inks will fall in love with this product!
I randomly stamped different leaf images in the upper left and lower right corners of my Super Stock. Using the Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence Studios, I swirled some Distress Oxide inks in autumny colours on top of the stamped images.
I “joined” the stamped, coloured images by stamping more leaves in a muted colour. These leaves connect all my layout elements and guide the eye through the layout. My photos were printed with a 3×5 inch ratio and feel very balanced between my colourful corners!
The embellishments I used were from the Prima Marketing Amber Moon collection. I love how the words and texture played so well with the feel I was going for. They add some extra interest without taking away from the photos, which I always want to take centre stage!
I added a touch of journaling with a Chameleon Fineliner! I was so pleased to have a colour that played well with my layout and not jump off my page. I just wanted some subtle information about my photos, so they make sense to me if/when my memory gets a bit foggy!
I had used a couple sizes of Glue Dots to hold everything in place. They are super sticky and I know I won’t find my embellishments at the bottom of my page protector in years to come. Be mindful of the adhesives you use. When you spend time and money creating beautiful layouts, you don’t want to be putting them back together in 6 months because your adhesives failed!
Thanks for taking the time to check out my latest project. Whatever season you are enjoying, find the beauty in it. If your weather is not inspiring, check out our Fall Issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine…it’s full of content that will make your creative heart sing!

The leaves have been beautiful this year but they don’t show their full glory because it’s wet and dull here. Beautiful layout, Kim.
This is beautiful! 🍁🍂🌿
