Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with Heartfelt Creations. I love growing Calla Lilies and every year I have several blooming in my yard so of course I was instantly drawn to this Heartfelt Creations collection. Once I start making flowers I end up making a bouquet’s worth. They are addictive and so rewarding.
The Heartfelt Creations, Calla Lily collection is made up of papers, stamps and dies that coordinate for easy, beautiful floral creativity.

I did a little research on the colors of Calla lilies – to help me with my card making. According to the Proflowers website:

  • White symbolizes purity and innocence.
  • Yellow symbolizes gratitude.
  • Pink symbolizes appreciation and romance.
  • Purple symbolizes royalty and admiration.
  • Black symbolizes elegance and mystery.
  • Red symbolizes beauty and courage.

….Good info to know when you’re making cards!
Here’s how I created my flowers: Using the coordinating die cut out the flowers and leaves from the paper pack. You could alternatively use the corresponding stamp and stamp out your flowers prior to cutting them out. Put the cut shapes into the Calla Lily mold, spray with a fine mist of water and run the mold through a die cutting machine. When you remove the leaves from the mold they will be bent and shaped. The Shaping Mold is a wonderful tool to begin the flower shaping process, it is particularly helpful is you need to make a number of flowers. Molds come in two pieces are made from sturdy plastic. The molds imprint delicate veins into your petals. I used the paper with the pre-printed leaves. Heartfelt Creations also makes a coordinating Calla Lily stamp that could be used in the mold system. Once dry, roll the edges with a stylus tool and then ink the edges of the flowers with Ranger Simon Hurley create.  ink. To form the flowers layer flower centres and a floral wire  inside the flower leaves and adhere with a hot glue gun. Using floral tape attach and reinforce the flowers to the steam.

Supplies: Heartfelt Creations Calla Lily patterned paper and dies; Heartfelt Creations Calla Lily Flower Shaping Mold and Flower Shaping kit; Ranger Simon Hurley create. ink; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; floral wire and tape.

…that’s all for now folks, you can take it or leaf it. (giggle giggle)
