Happy Tuesday With The Team! It’s Kim here today with a quick share. I look forward to Tuesdays on our blog to see what “my peeps” have been up to when they aren’t busy doing assignments, I’m always inspired!
And THAT is just what I want to touch on today. I love that I am able to create and share for Creative Scrapbooker, and am thrilled if one of my projects has inspired one of your layouts or cards. What’s important to know…I also get inspired from so many people and places. It’s a wonderful feeling with the creative brain takes over and flows, but that is not always the case!
Today’s layout share is not a “Kim Original”! I scraplifted this idea from IG: @scrappingwithchristine ~ her layout was shared on Creative Scrapboooker Magazine’s Instagram feed on May 28th. I loved it as soon as I saw it, and knew I would “scraplift” it.My version is not product heavy.
I used photoshop to align my photos around a 12×12 digital canvas. They are all different sizes. Some are black and white, others are very desaturated colours. I did this on purpose, it was kind of how my mood was in the early days of COVID. I printed my layout on a piece of Creative Scrapbooker SuperStock. I love the smooth, matte finish.
My centre postcard quote was purchased from Dr. Jody Carrington’s online shop, another source of inspiration in these crazy COVID times.
Southern Ridge Trading Company designed the coronavirus chipboard piece! I embossed it using Quietfire Design’s Modern Gilding Powders from Emerald Creek Craft Company…it turned out so good! My ribbon tails were printed with my Brother P-touch Cube and reads: #NotTodayCorona, a phrase coined by Dr. Jody Carrington!
I adhered my postcard down on the sides and bottom with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L tape runner. This created a pocket for me to tuck in some journaling. This is an important life event with stories to tell!
Finally I added a few clear sticker affirmations to my photos. These I had on hand, they came with an Ali Edwards kit I had purchased. They were the perfect “quiet” embellishments that became my words and did not take away from my photos at all!
So my friends…go forth and scraplift, it is not a crime! Just be kind and give credit where credit is due! Instagram is my favourite social media platform for inspiration and Creative Scrapbooker Magazine shares so much wonderful content! Be sure to check it out!
