Glittery Zebras with Cathy Caines - Creative Scrapbooker

Wow, I can’t believe that August is upon us. 2020 has certainly been a wild ride especially in our household with a new baby. Claire is now six months old and we are resuming some of our pre-COVID activities. I’ve also started getting into a better habit of making time for me in the craft room. When the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 new annual catalogue was released in June, I ordered some new 12×12 Rainbow Glimmer Paper. I mean… I am obsessed. But it’s the type of product that I would tend to “hoard”. Almost like it was too precious to cut up!

Not today. Well okay. Just the one sheet. But I did it. I cut it up! I knew that this paper was going to be the star of the show but to help bring it to life I paired it with an image from the Zany Zebras stamp set. To make sure that the zebra wasn’t floating I used the Ornate Layers Dies to bring focus back to the image. Loves those little zebras especially wearing a party hat! Stampin’ Up! makes it easy to embellish since they have purposefully coordinated their colours and product suites so I popped on some Whale of a Time sequins, Pool Party 3/8” Sheer Ribbon and some whisper white baker’s twine.

I’ve gotten in the habit to include a sentiment and an image on the inside of my cards lately. When it came to this card, it was a no brainer to find a way to include another zebra image! There is no doubt that crafting and the arts are helping me get through this pandemic. Try to make time for yourself to do the same… even if you are only organizing your supplies.
