Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans, For today’s blogpost, I’m sharing with you how to create these two Masculine Birthday Cards which uses the Simple Vintage Lakeside Collection from Simple StoriesDies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, Ink from Ranger Ink and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my cards at home. To start, we will create the Boat Happy Birthday Card first.
Out of the Simple Vintage Lakeside Paper Pack from Simple Stories, you’ll need the Nature’s Story, Relax & Unwind and On Lake Time Papers. Die cut a 4 ¼” Fitted Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of the fern side of the Nature’s Story patterned paper. Die cut a 3 ¾” Fitted Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of the green patterned side of the On Lake Time patterned paper. Die cut a 2 ¾” Fitted Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of the plaid side of the Relax & Unwind patterned paper. Distress the edges of all the pieces. Ink the edges of all the pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Simple Vintage Lakeside Paper Pack from Simple Stories, you’ll need the 4×4 Elements. Choose one of the 4×4 squares to cut out, you will be using the backside of the square. Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the square using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Next, you’ll need the Simple Vintage Lakeside Basics Kit from Simple Stories. From the paper pack, you’ll need the Trail/Lake Blue paper. Die cut a 3 ¼” Fitted Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs from the grey side of the patterned paper. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Pages Pieces – Simple Vintage Lakeside from Simple Stories, you need the boat, red label, dragonfly, and clipboard. Fussy cut around the images. Take the Happy & Birthday off the Build Your Own Sentiments from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the stamps and stamp on the red label as desired. Ink the edges of the images using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Simple Vintage Lakeside – Bits & Pieces from Simple Stories, you need a wood stump, cream tag, green edged label, and blue ticket. Fussy cut around the wood stump. Ink the edges of the images using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Simple Vintage Lakeside – Nature Bits from Simple Stories, you need two dragonflies, a fish, a duck and two flies. Fussy cut around all the images. Ink the edges of the images using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the 3 ¾” rectangle to the 4 ¼” rectangle. Adhere the 4×4 square to the middle of the 3 ¾” rectangle. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the 2 ¾” rectangle to the 3 ¼” rectangle. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the red clipboard ½” from the left and have 7/8” showing above the 3 ¼” rectangle. Adhere the green label with greenery 5/8” from the left and 1” from the top of the 3 ¼” rectangle. Adhere the blue ticket 3/8” from the bottom and 1 1/8” from the left of the 3 ¼” rectangle. Adhere the wood stump 3/8” from the right and 2 3/8” from the top of the 3 ¼” rectangle. Adhere the tag ¼” from the right and 5/8” from the top of the 3 ¼” rectangle.Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the 3 ¼” rectangle to the middle of the 3 ¾” rectangle. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the fish 1/16” from the right and ¾” from the bottom of the 3 ¼” rectangle. Adhere the red label 1/8” from the bottom of the 3 ¼” rectangle. The label will sit 3/8” over the 3 ¼” rectangle. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the boat in the bottom left corner of the 3 ¼” rectangle. Adhere the three dragonflies as desired on the 2 ¾” rectangle. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the fishing flies under the bottom of the boat, the flies will sit close to the red label. Adhere the duck overtop of the fishing flies and have it sit slightly on the boat. In the top right corner of the 3 ¾” rectangle, add two Simple Vintage Lakeside Enamel Dots from Simple Stories. In the bottom left corner of the 3 ¾” rectangle, adhere three enamel dots. To finish the card, cut a card base out of Superstock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine that measures 4 ¼” x 11”, score at 5 ½”. Use E-Z Runner Adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the card front to the card base. Here is the finished Boat Happy Birthday Card. Now we will create the Mushroom Happy Birthday Card. To start, you’ll need the Simple Vintage Lakeside Paper Pack from Simple Stories. Out of the paper pack, take out the Catch of the Day and Explore & Discover Papers. Die cut a 4 ¼” Fitted Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of the Catch of the Day patterned paper. Die cut a 3 ¾” Fitted Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of the Explore & Discover patterned paper. Distress the edges of the rectangles. Ink the edges of the rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Simple Vintage Lakeside Paper Pack from Simple Stories, you’ll need the Journal Elements. Cut out the journal element with the mushroom on it. Take the Happy & Birthday off the Build Your Own Sentiments from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the stamps and stamp on the journal element as desired. I had the Birthday sit on the fourth line from the bottom. Distress the edges. Ink the edges of the journal element using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Simple Vintage Lakeside Paper Pack from Simple Stories, you’ll need the 3×4 Elements. Fussy cut the Lake, Creek, River sign. Ink the edges of the sign using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Next, you’ll need the Simple Vintage Lakeside Bits & Pieces from Simple Stories. From the package, take out the wood stump, white tag, green ticket, and dark blue ticket. Fussy cut around the stump. Distress the edges of the tickets and wood stump. Ink the edges of all the pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Next, you’ll need the Simple Vintage Lakeside Nature Bits from Simple Stories. From the package, take out two butterflies, two ferns, one single green mushroom, one tall mushroom and one mushroom bunch. Fussy cut around all the images. Ink the edges of all the pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the 3 ¾” rectangle to the 4 ¼” rectangle. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the dark blue ticket ¼” from the top and ¼” from the left of the journal element. Adhere the wood stump ¼” from the right and 1” from the bottom of the journal element. Adhere the tag ¼” from the right and ¾” from the top of the journal element. Adhere the green ticket 3/8” from the right and 3/8” from the bottom of the journal element. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the journal element to the middle of the 3 ¾” rectangle. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the Lake, Creek, River sign to the right-hand side of the journal element as desired. Use E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the two ferns, the mushrooms and one butterfly as desired on the left-hand side of the journal element. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the last butterfly to the top portion of the journal element as desired. In the top right corner of the 3 ¾” rectangle, adhere three Simple Vintage Lakeside Enamel Dots from Simple Stories. In the bottom left corner of the 3 ¾” rectangle, adhere two enamel dots. To finish the card, cut a card base out of Superstock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine that measures 4 ¼” x 11”, score at 5 ½”. Use E-Z Runner Adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the card front to the card base. Here is the finished Mushroom Happy Birthday Card.
