Hello all! Β It’s the start of another month and the countdown is on to the holidays! Today, I’m sharing the December sketch for our Sketchy Challenge! Β Have you checked out our gallery yet? Β Lots of inspiration to be found, both in sketches AND our readers’ designs! Β You can view it HERE without signing up, but to upload your designs and to comment, you will need to register and log in. Β It’s easy – most of the information can be found in our Before You BeginΒ and FAQs links on the left side of the page. Here’s the December sketch: So,… (*looks around, furtively*)… do you want to know a little secret?? πŸ™‚ Β Usually, the monthly sketch comes from a sketchbook of ideas that I’ve created at random, but sometimes, just sometimes, the sketch is inspired by a layout that I’ve created on a whim! That was the case in this month’s…

Today on our blog we welcome Wilna Furstenberg, an artist who has developed a passion for scrapbooking and inspires us through her classes and workshops, and especially her fabulous layouts. Hi to my fellow Canadians! My name is Wilna Furstenberg, and I am a very proud Canadian! I am a scrapbooker and product designer and have been a part of the Scrapbooking Industry since 2003. I would love to tell you my story today. Go and grab a Timmies (Medium with 2 milk for me) and come and hang out with me while I entertain you with tidbits of my life. I was born and raised in South Africa and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Pretoria in 1996. I painted huge oil paintings in those 4 years, and little did I know then that most ofΒ my life’s creative work would be 12×12 inches! I…

Hello crazy crafters! My name is Candace Robichaud from Edmonton, Alberta and I am ridiculously thrilled to be a guest blogger for my all time favorite magazine today (total brownie points)! I own my own automotive magazine Carsgone.com (shameless plug), I am an aspiring photographer and have a background in graphic design. I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years and am currently on the design team for Treasured Memories. I also pretend to work there a lot, and sometimes they even let me design their amazing month kits! It is one of my favorite things to do besides sip a Timmies Ice capp, surf Netflix, or enjoy a foot massage from my 10 yr old daughter Tayla who happens to be well-trained. All of the projects that I am pumped to share with you today were created with the Treasured Memories October Month kit, which I put together and…

These past week, I remembered. I remembered what I have no first hand knowledge about. I remembered brave men and women I have never met. I celebrated the safety and freedom of my life. Today, my heart overflows with gratitude for the bravery and sacrifice of others. Thank-you. A few years ago, we were able to spend Canada Day in Ottawa. What an experience that was! I loved the ceremony and the pride and joy swelling from the crowds. I bet you are wondering why I am reminiscing about Canada Day on Remembrance Day. It is simply because we stopped at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on that day. I guess I just felt the need to look at those photos again. And remember. Lest we forget… Supplies Used: Cardstock- Bazzill Basics Paper Β and Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock; Patterned Paper, Stickers- Graphic 45; Dies- Spellbinders; Phoomph under photos and…

Hi Everyone…or should I say, “Happy Halloween!” It’s Kelly here to share a layout. Do you have you have your costumes ready and spooky dΓ©cor around the house?Β  I know I have some cobwebs here and there!Β ha ha ha Here isΒ a Halloween layout I designed using Simple Stories’ fun “Frankie and Friends” collection, along with someΒ awesome SizzixΒ dies. I based my design on Sue Sykes’ October Sketch. Have you been playing with her sketches and uploading your layouts to our Sketchy gallery? Here are the three Sizzix dies I used: I die cut them from American Crafts glitter paper… love the sparkle! Beacon Adhesives is great for adhering these pieces: I bent the bat wings for added dimension and just glued their heads down. With white and black markers, I added faux stitching around the title and other cut paper elements. It’s never too late to create a layout based on…

Today we welcome Sylvie Hoobanoff as our guest blogger, who will share some fabulous graduation layouts she has completed for her daughter. Hi there! My name is Sylvie Hoobanoff and I’m very happy to share a project I’ve been working on with you today. I live in beautiful Canal Flats, BC with my husband of 25 years. This fall we became empty nesters when our 18 year old daughter, Julia, went away to college and our 17 year old son, Nick, went away to play Junior B hockey. Now that my car pooling days are over, I am hoping to find more time for my passion of paper crafting and scrapbooking. My daughter graduated high school in June 2014. After the two day event, I had over 100 photos to scrapbook! There were professional photos, personal photos that I took and even some I borrowed from my daughter’s friends from…

One of my favourite things is truly a scrapbook layout about anything CANADIAN!Β  IΒ sincerely have a soft spot for this beautiful country I call home. Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting some layouts our design team created about their hometowns! I LOVE THEM ALL (Yep the layouts and the wonderful girls on my team)! Meet Kim Gowdy Kim has been apart of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine almost since the beginning! She was most definitely our biggest cheerleader from day 1 andΒ over the yearsΒ has become an important part of our online presence, design team and editorial planning.Β  THANK YOU Kim! Here is Kim’s take on our page call “My Hometown” SUPPLIES: Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, FabScraps patterned paper, Sizzix dies andΒ Big ShotΒ die CuttingΒ machine, Stampin’ Up! buttons, Clearsnap ink, May Arts twine, Xyron Create-A-Sticker adhesive. To create this layout Kim used some gorgeous barnwood like paper from FabScraps Beachcomber Collection.…
