WOW!!!!! What a job! Thank you Stampin’ Up! for this gorgeous stamp set! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it in the catelogue! Now – we did in fact have to cut out 1600 little ornaments to attach to the trees – LOL!!!! Not sure what I was thinking! I also used my favourite adhesive in the world to create this card – Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squares! You know how if you look in the fridge and there is no milk you feel like you have no groceries? Well if I have no foam squares I feel like I am completely out of supplies!!!! It took roughly 100 hours to create 400 cards! So about 25minutes a card!!!!!!! My Mom and Dad logged in all these hours – SO VERY LUCKY I am! Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine sends out these cards to all the…
It was possible to work with, play with and absolutely love the people that I work with so much!!!! This picture was taken on May 1st as we were celebrating National Scrapbooking Day a bit early!!!! Every year members of our team travel to the very beautiful Bull River and enjoy time together, scrapbooking, eating, drinking smoothies and doing a whole pile of giggling! (photo by Kim Gowdy – who is a CS Consultant – she has the best ideas:)) How lucky I am! This is the ONE OF KIND, AMAZING group of scrapbookers but more importantly FRIENDS! Some of these crazy ladies I only get to see once a year – right here at Bull River – where we celebrate scrapbooking. We hang out for 4 days once a year and go home with muscle pains in our jaws and cheeks from laughing so very hard! It’s kinda like Vegas…
We are working on the summer issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you to Shandro Photo in Edmonton, Alberta for the gorgeous wedding photo and to Jan Hobbins for designing the layout for us! Jan used some awesome Canadian Manufacturers on the cover layout including Magenta Peel Off’s and Craft & Glitz Glamour Glitter ! I can hardly wait for you to see the inside!!!! (updated April 19th – I apologize for incorrectly calling Craft & Glitz Glitter – Glitter Glam – it is infact called Craft & Glitz Glamour Glitter). I am sorry for the mislabelling.
“CUPCAKES” of fun! This sure was a HARD assignment!!!!! 😉 For the summer issue Desiree Maas and I created a cupcake tree that will be featured both on the front cover and inside the magazine. Here is a sneak peek! What exactly went into creating this tree 1. A number of different trial runs of baking cupcakes – to get the right colour, right holders and right size. 2. A number of visits to the store – purchasing various cupcake holders and decorations. 3. Lots of different shades of icing were created until Desiree got it just right! 4. Christoph and my Dad made a number of cupcake trees at various sizes so that we could have a number of different options. 5. We spent many many hours making the spiral flowers that line each outer layer. We used Harmonie patterned paper, circle punch and double sided tape! 7. The Robin’s Nest Dew Drops were…
CRAZY – we are finished the photo shoot for the Summer 2011 issue and are working on putting the Summer issue together right now for a press due date at the end of April!!!! After 5 years I am still not used to working so far ahead! Right now our Creative team is working on their FALL assignments! That is just NUTSO!!!!! Here is an inside look of some photo shoot fun! It all starts right here at my kitchen table – your layouts arrive, supply lists are typed out, return labels are printed, layouts are categorized and given a label as to where exactly they will appear in the upcoming issue. Next they are placed in the order that they will be photographed. Next everything is packed up in the back of my Denali and we head off to Calgary – about a 4 1/2 hour drive from my…
