Kim here with a post today on a cause that has become near and dear to Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine’s team. You may have already noticed on our blog and Facebook page; a link to “Hope for Haiti”. We also have a full page dedicated to the cause in our magazine, in hopes that OUR scrapbooking community can rally together and help raise the funds required to build an ART ROOM for the under privileged children living in the outskirts of Cap Haitien. This art room would be a roof-top adjunct to a school being built with the help of volunteers like our team member Alison Orthner. She has joined forces with LIVE DIFFERENT and CANADIAN SCRAPBOOKER magazine in efforts to make this dream become a reality. A place where these children can leave the hardships of their life for a short time and create beautiful art and music. Every child…

This Magenta Crafty Secrets Swirl is one of the most used stamps I own. It so versatile that I have yet to run out of uses for it. I love how it peaks out from under my stickers. Using Gesso on Core’dinations ColorCore Embossed Cardstock

Hello everyone – Christy Riopel here! I love Core’dinations ColorCore pre-embossed cardstock. It makes a great base for a mixed media technique page. I started by dry brushing gesso over the entire surface of the teal paper. Don’t add water as that may lessen the embossing a bit. I then added Clearsnap ColorBox dye ink to the raised surfaces by directly rubbing the ink pad on them. I love the how antique the finished look is. I used Core’dinations ColorCore die cuts on the page as some of the many layers I have under my photo.
