Hello everyone, Cathie Allan here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I am so excited to share with you my blog post for February. It involves a gorgeous Hydrangea stamp along with a few other stamps and dies from the amazing Heartfelt Creations. This amazing company constantly creates stamps and dies to inspire.  Of course, I broke out my pigment inks and I now have a totally awesome collection of Tsukineko’s, StazOn, Pigment ink. If you are like me … and love to incorporate window plastic or transparencies to your projects, this ink will blow your ‘”stamping on window plastic” mind :). I will also share with you a delightful little cleaner that will clean this “relatively, new ink” off of your rubber stamps and your clear stamps and “nourish your stamps” at the same time. Let’s check it out! Using the “StazOn ink” of your dreams, stamp the…

Good “almost” Valentine’s Day to you all. Creating a message of love for someone that is dear to you takes that message to an entirely new level. Your message becomes a keepsake that your loved one will treasure for many years to come and possibly if your loved ones are like my husband …. it’ll be cherished forever! You can spend hours on a handmade card or you can use extraordinary products to make it look like you spent hours.  “Painting with glitter” is a simple, fun technique that always takes a card to the next level. You can do the whole card as a “glitter painting” OR you can simply add a glitter, painted embellishment. In the spring issue of “Canadian Scrapbooker” 2011 I shared this technique in my “It’s All About Rubber” article. Since then our publication has gone international and therefore the name of this wonderful magazine…

Everyday Memories I NEED For My Lifetime! by Cathie Allan I LOVE INK …..  I LOVE INK .. .I “simply” LOVE INK! And, YES pigment ink is one of my favorite types of ink. “Why?” you ask. Beyond the fact that it is the most lightfast, most archival ink on the market … it is just so darn versatile. I can use it in so many applications that the variety of techniques that I am able to accomplish using pigment ink seems virtually endless. Do I use it for “simple” stamping … yes. Do I use if for embossing …. Yes. Do I use it when I want colors to blend seamlessly … oh, yes! Do I use it for stenciling … uh, huh. Do I use it for resist … abso stamping lutely. Can I turn it’s ability for staying wet longer into a “smear your art…

Making a Ribbon Mat for Your Page I love the texture of ribbons and I am always looking for a new way to use it on my page. In this layout I created a mat with pieces of May Arts ribbons. I started with Be Creative Sookwang double sided tape, a big pile of awesome May Arts ribbon and a piece of scrap chipboard. I then put two strips of tape down each side of the chipboard. I cut several strips of ribbon just a bit longer then the chipboard. I attached the strips to the tape on one side. Wrapped it around the front and then attached it to the other side.
