In loving memory of Christy Riopel – here is a blog post from Feb 2013 that was featured on our blog. Β It is written in Christy’s words. Making a Ribbon Mat for Your Page I love the texture of ribbons and I am always looking for a new way to use it on my page. In this layout I created a mat with pieces of May Arts ribbons. I started with Be CreativeΒ Sookwang double sidedΒ tape,Β a big pile of awesome May Arts ribbon and a piece of scrap chipboard. I then put two strips of tape down each side of the chipboard. I cut several strips of ribbon just a bit longer then the chipboard. I attached the strips to the tape on one side. Wrapped it around the front and then attached it to the other side. I added some sheer ribbons and smaller ribbons over top of the…

Here is a blog post from April 2012 that Christy created – in her words. She sure loved art journaling – and we sure loved what she created. I was recently asked, βWhy should a scrapbooker take time to art journal?β The answer is simple. An art journal is a place to make mistakes, experiment with mediums, looks, and just play. Very often I take ideas I have developed in my art journal and turn them into Scrapbook pages. I took the above page and turned it into this layout. Materials Used: Fancy Pants paper and Rub Ons, Bazzill cardstock, ChromaColour Paint, Marvy Pen, 3L Adhesives How I did itβ¦. To create this fun frame I first placed a scrap of paper in the middle of where I wanted my frame. Next I took paint and sponged it along the edges sporadically. When done sponging I lifted it and replaced…
