Desiree Saskiw here! I must admit that I had taken a stamping hiatus for some time, but this fun Magenta “Savvy Symbols” stamp set inspired me to pull of the ink and embossing powders and get to work! I have always been drawn to using circles as part of my paper creations so this birthday card was no exception. I enjoyed the contrast that was created between the use soft lines in the circles and hearts, with the straight lines of the arrows. The number stamps were a fun addition; counting up to the Happy 10th birthday for my niece Jaeanna! I am a big fan of “fussy cutting” and paper layering so the Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock was the perfect choice for this project. I created texture on the papers with the Sizzix template and then sanded the paper to really make the pattern stand out. I love sanding the papers and the seeing the two-tone effect because it adds a rustic, roughness that is perfect for scrapbooking my boys.
