OMGosh! I am late getting to our Sketchy Challenge this month, but have some fun products to share! I feel the change of seasons in my bones and am already missing lost daylight hours! Thankfully autumn comes with crisp, sunny days that allow us to enjoy the colours of the season. Autumn colour ALWAYS puts a smile on my face! That being said, I used this month’s sketch to celebrate Autumn! I was really pleased with the end result, though it took some messing around to figure out where it was going! I’m really happy with the products I decided to work with, they complement each other well! Echo Park Paper Co.’s Celebrate Autumn collection was used for the paper components of my layout! The colours, patterns, and words worked well with my end vision! Some “quiet” color was added to the white CSM Super Stock with the designer stencil and…
Hello everyone – Kelly Klapstein here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Fall is the time of year when I like to change up the home decor and add some new hand lettering projects to celebrate the season. I have been inspired by our resident colouring artist Betty Hung, who illustrates and colours like no one I have ever seen! So I decided to design a hand lettered Autumn-themed piece and use my Chameleon Pens products to colour it. I have used the Chameleon Color Tone pens before, but I haven’t used their Color Tones pencils…and this rainbow of pencils are just gorgeous in the box. There are 25 double-ended pencils, which adds up to 50 colours! For every hand lettered project, my first step is to sketch a design roughly with pencil. I have an 8 x 10″ frame for this piece, so I knew the measurements of the…
Today on our blog, we have a wonderful 5″ x 5″ Fall colouring card design for you to download, created by Betty Hung, an artist and illustrator who lives in Edmonton, Alberta. Betty is an expert colourist and enjoys sharing her colouring techniques on her new blog “Color Art.” Using Tombow Dual Brush pens, Betty layered colours to create the beautiful multiple tones in the leaves. Happy first day of Fall! Nicole here from Nicole Wright Designs and I’m excited to share my most favorite time of year… Fall! I just got all my Sizzix dies to play with and I went for the Dashing Deer first knowing I was somehow going to create a fall project. Well I usually have some idea of what I may create. This one needed lots of leaves and burlap. Onto the fun! I decided to layer up the antlers with the mat board cut 2 times and a layer of Sizzix Leather Paper. I cut the head and upper body with some scrap Core paper. For the leaves I made my own paper using watercolor paper. I grabbed my Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, carved pumpkin and fossilized amber. Spritz and spray. Apply matching distress inks to intensify the colour. Now that the paper is dry I can cut…
Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here with my layout for the October Sketchy Challenge. The Fall colour palette is so beautiful…all the golds, reds, yellows, oranges. They make me so happy when designing a scrapbook layout, especially when I have some pretty photos in hand and the perfect papers to match. Here is my take on the October Sketch: These Creative Memories papers are so pretty and have a light vintage feel to them. I used my Brother ScanNCut to create this paper pieced pumpkin, along with cutting the hexagons. I hope you give this sketch a shot and upload your layout to our Sketchy Gallery! We would love to see your designs! Kelly Klapstein You can visit Kelly’s blog by clicking HERE.
