Hello from me…Kim Gowdy! I am back into routine after a wonderful holiday with my family. I LOVE time off work, it gives me time to relax and lets the stress leave my body! My shoulders start to loosen and drop, my brain wonders away from work things and I get to reconnect with my family! Another thing that happens is my creative self grows. Sometimes I find my scrapbook layouts reflect daily life…when routine is rigid, my pages are also. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I really love when I let myself be more free. This page I feel is a result of holidays. I just had fun placing embellishments kind of randomly, adding some ink splotches and stitching…I really like the feel! I kept my supplies simple using only patterned paper from one line: Fancy Pants Nautical Collection. A little ribbon from May Arts Ribbon and…

Hello everyone Christy Riopel here on the blog today! I am all about creating layers these days. Stamps are a great way to add layers without adding bulk to your page. This Magenta Crafty Secrets Swirl is one of the most used stamps I own. It so versatile that I have yet to run out of uses for it. I love how it peaks out from under my stickers. Supplies: Magenta stamps, Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper and stickers, May Arts Ribbon, gesso, Clearsnap ColorBox Chalk Ink, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Photo by Allison Orthner Have a wonderful week everyone! By Connie Nichol with Fancy Pants Designs, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive Supplies: Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper, stickers and wood title, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive. I love pretty much all products by Fancy Pants Designs but the Collecting Moments line released in the summer of 2013 is one of my favourites. I find that the colours and patterns are perfect for all sorts of projects – girl layouts, boy layouts, cards – you name it. Here’s a layout I did featuring some silly selfie photos I took with my friends Kim and Jackie on a recent trip to Nova Scotia. When I look at these pictures, I am instantly transported back to Mavillette Beach and the feeling of that wind!!! I used May Arts Ribbon natural burlap string to mimic the energy of the wind…
Upcycling Pop Cans to Make Embossed “Tin Panels” by Christy Riopel I was inspired by old tin ceiling panels when I created this page. I love how they go with the vintage feel of the photo. Supplies: Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper and stickers, Spellbinder’s dies and embossing folders, gesso, Stephanie Barnard for Clearsnap ink sprays, Beacon Adhesives 3in1 glue and Decoupage gloss sealer, Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, marvy gel pen. To make the panels I cut the top and bottom off a pop can and down the side. I then took my Spellbinders embossing folder and embossed the metal from the can. I then painted it with gesso and let it dry. I sprayed it with Stephanie Barnard for Clearsnap Ink sprays and when they were almost dry I sealed them with Beacon Adhesives spray on Decoupage Gloss Sealer. This keeps the colours vibrant. I sanded some of…
