Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you have time this weekend to do take some photos, do some scrapbooking and record those wonderful family memories. The May sketch is up in our Sketchy Gallery ready to inspire you! I was lucky enough to spend some time scrapbooking on National Scrapbook Day and designed 2 layouts based on this sketch. The first one features the Simple Stories “Heart” collection. I did a little brush lettering with the Tombow Fudenosuke soft tip brush pen to add “you have my” to the title. For the second layout, I rotated the sketch a quarter turn clockwise and used Fancy Pants Designs “Me-Ology” collection. I’m trying to scrapbook more photos of myself this year, and the ME-ology line is perfect! I used the Tombow Monotwin to doodle on the layout and add some interest with black lines. The Monotwin has 2 tips of different sizes…
Ah…..Connie Nichol here today. There is nothing like sitting down with a crisp new issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and a cup of tea. Especially in the summer when you are sitting outside in a lawn chair listening to the birds singing and the grass feels good under your bare feet. I snapped this picture a couple of summers ago, and it still makes me smile when I look at it. To scrapbook this picture, I used products from Fancy Pants Designs Office Suite line. It’s a very versatile paper line containing everything from soft pastels and delicate florals to bold black and white patterns. It would work for everything from baby photos to travel or wedding photos. The Office Suite alphabet set is big and bold and makes a page title just pop. This alphabet set comes in the paper pack or you can buy it separately. You can also…

Hi, it’s Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout I created using the November sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge and some of the new Creative Memories products. A couple of years ago I participated in a hummingbird photography workshop in British Columbia. It was an absolutely amazing experience and I have enough hummingbird photographs to last me several lifetimes. I used patterned paper from the Creative Memories ‘Brights’ designer paper pack and the Bubbles Border Maker to dress up my paper edges a little bit. The Creative Memories Border Maker System is very unique – you slide your paper into a positioning guide where it is firmly held by a magnet and then you move a punch cartridge stepwise down the paper edge. The cartridges are interchangeable so you can easily swap out different cartridges for different borders. To make my picture pop, I used dimensional foam adhesive…
Kim Gowdy here on the blog today, happily sharing my layout inspired by the August Sketchy Challenge. I have been struggling to find time in my craft room these past months…but stay focused to get ALL the sketches completed! The August sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein was very graphic. I swayed from that aspect of the design but otherwise kept pretty true to it. My layout is pretty simple using papers, stickers and ephemera from Fancy Pant’s “ME-OLOGY” collection. The paw print, cut behind the pictures, was done on my Cricut Explore using Close To My Heart’s Artistry cartridge. I also used Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L and the little wood veneer dogs were from Studio Calico. By the way; the topic of my layout…TRUE STORY! Go forth and scrapbook with our sketches. They are always available in our Sketchy Gallery. On time or late…we LOVE to see what you share.
