Hi everyone! Jodi Wilton here today to share with you a quick card made with FabScraps & Spellbinders! I put these two together because I thought FabScraps, would be a perfect match for the Spellbinders Shapeabilities- Asian Motifs: I started off by cutting a black cardstock base and adding some FabScraps paper, just inside the base. I sewed around the FabScraps paper for some extra detail. I then used the largest die from the Spellbinders Asian Motif with some FabScraps paper, and layered a square to fit just inside it. (I also sewed around this square for extra detail). Finally the Romantic Travel Die Cut book is awesome! I used a luggage tag and added a bit of paper in it and sewed around the luggage tag. I also got out a FabScraps butterfly Chipboard to add to the card. The next step was to adhere the layers…
Build – with Frugal Metal Embellishments Featuring Graphic 45 In my house, there always seems to be bits of metal laying around – such as screws, bolts, washers and various other whatnots – picked up from who knows where and brought home because you never know when you might need it. LOL. I was tidying up one day and the metal washers caught my eye as a potential embellishment because they are flat and lightweight. I repurposed most of the washers on this layout from my husband’s stash, but they are also very inexpensive to purchase at a hardware store, usually about 15 cents each depending upon the size. The Typography collection from Graphic 45 was perfect for this layout. It is simply gorgeous. I used my favourite chalk ink in ‘Blackbird’ and a foam applicator by Clearsnap to smudge the edges of the layout in black and give…

Have you seen these beautiful intricate dies from Spellbinders? They are just gorgeous, and with a few little tricks, easy to use. I absolutely love this little die called ‘Cattails’. Although I have to say, I’m a prairie girl, and while I’m sure the die could look like cattails, to me, it looks like wheat. So that’s what I used it for. Stalks of ripe wheat, blowing in the breeze. The first time I tried using this die, I discovered it was not quite as simple as all of the other Spellbinders dies I have used over the years. Because it is so intricate and highly detailed, I had a few issues with it cutting all the way through, and then had trouble actually getting the paper out of the die. I had a quick look on the internet for some suggestions on how to make it easier. I found…
