Hello Everyone! I have been having a lot of fun lately with the new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons from Ranger. You might know that I’ve been slightly obsessed with watercolour and creating watercolour effects with different products. So I used the Distress Crayons to design this Mother’s Day card. Here are the Tim Holtz (Ranger) supplies I started with to create the stamped flowers: Distress Watercolor Cardstock, Waterbrush, Collage Brush, Distress Collage Medium, the Distress Crayon (Seedless Preserves). I brushed the Distress Collage Medium on the Distress Watercolor paper using the Collage Brush. Just remember to clean your brush well right after and don’t let the medium dry on it. Let the medium on the paper dry completely and then scribble some distress crayon colour onto it. Why did I add the medium first? I find the Distress Crayons move better and dissolve into a watercolour more easily, but…
“What a beautiful blessing you are to me.” It was perfect. This saying says it all. In eight simple words. I am blessed to have two beautiful women in my life that I can call my mother. My mom and my mother-in-law are beautiful humans that consistently look to the positive. They are rocks under pressure. No matter what problem I bring to them, they make life seem like lollipops and rainbows. They find the answer. They know how to make that pit in your tummy float away. Somehow these two ladies were raised to put one foot in front of the other and survive by looking at their glass half full. I wanted to make them a card that was as beautiful as they are. But I had limited supplies and I had limited creativity. When I have a creativity block, I find it easiest to play…
Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share a special Mother’s Day gift and card you can make using some beautiful BoBunny products. I used the gorgeous “Secret Garden” collection from BoBunny, which has beautiful purple tones with lots of floral images, like roses, lilacs and lavender. This collection is PERFECT for Mother’s Day! When I saw the beautiful piece of paper with the wreath, I knew I was going to hand letter a quote for my mother to express how much she means to me. I first sketched the quote on a scrap piece of paper so I knew where the words would fit into the wreath circle. Then I penciled in the words and followed with drawing them with the new Ranger Dylusions White Linen paint pen. I did the same faux calligraphy on the card with “Happy Mother’s Day.” After I created the faux calligraphy words,…
Today on our blog we welcome Michelle Marks, who is going to show you how she used our Sketchy Challenge to design cards! Happy Spring dear Canadian Scrapbooker readers…ummm…at least I’m hoping it’s spring somewhere in Canada by now because it sure hasn’t reached Nfld yet! Michelle here today from Corner Brook, Nfld. Apparently I’m supposed to tell you a little about me so here goes. I’m a 47 year old mom to two “almost” grown kids, a daughter 21 years old and a son 19 years old. I am also spoiled wife to Rob, and this summer we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our home also houses a small zoo…one cat, one geriatric dog, two dwarf hamsters and some fish… plus a gazillion wild birds that empty my feeders faster than I can fill them. There’d be a lot more animals if my kids had their way but…
