pet layouts

In loving memory of Christy Riopel – here is a page from our Winter 2013 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.  Christy loved her furry friend Spike – she created many layouts over the years featuring this cute little dude!  SUPPLIES: BasicGrey patterned paper, tags and alphabet, Marvy gel pen, May Arts Ribbon twine and string, Beacon 3-in-1 Advanced Craft gluel, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. This layout makes me smile! Creative Scrapbooker Magazine is honoured to announce that we have started an ART Scholarship in Christy’s name. For those of you interested in honouring Christy Riopel and helping her legacy of ART continue, we are collecting donations for art scholarships for youth through the Boys & Girls Club of Calgary. I LOVE working with fall colours! Who’s with me?? SUPPLIES: Bo Bunny patterned paper, buttons, chipboard, brads, film sticker and cardstock, Tombow Dual Brush pen, Stamp Runner and Xtreme Adhesive, Clearsnap ColorBox Spritzers and ink, May Arts Ribbon I used the Bo Bunny Take a Hike collection. The warm earthy tones, that work with practically any type of photo. My layout today, focuses on one special photo. So I created a base of lots of layers of pattern and texture to showcase that special photo. Along the top border of patterned paper I added a line of coordinating decorative brads, for some additional texture. I added some simple splatters of my Clearsnap ColorBox Spritzers to the bottom left hand corner of my layered cardstock base. Do you LOVE to use ribbon on your layouts like me? You need to check out Tombow’s new Xtreme Adhesive Runner, this stuff will stick to…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a fall layout featuring some gorgeous Momenta textured cardstock that has a dreamy water colour look. The cardstock comes in an 8×8 paper pad with three sheets of each design.  The colours will go with almost everything. I put two of the 8×8 cardstock sheets in opposite corners on a sheet of 12×12 cardstock and then filled in the corners with some shimmery Art-C paint and a self adhesive stencil.  Because hey, who doesn’t like to play with shimmery paint?  This stuff is gorgeous.  And the colour stops my heart. I filled in what was left of the gap between the stenciled paint and the cardstock with a piece of May Arts gingham ribbon, and then mounted my photograph.  (P.S. By the way, especially for Canadians, I had this 8×8 photo enlargement printed at www.blacks.ca for 99 cents on a sale last month.  I am super…

Here is a blog post from Christy from a few years ago for you to enjoy. Written in Christy’s words. The other day I was working on this layout with the fabulous paper and embellishments from FarmHouse Paper company and May Arts ribbon and I really felt like the beautiful rustic quality needed to be accented and off set with a little glitter. Perplexed with how to add it, I decided not to over think it and grabbed my trusty  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  tape runner and added stripes of the tape runner over the paper. I then poured Craft& Glitz Glamour Glitter all over the tape and burnished it with my finger. I poured off the excess glitter and my paper was ready to build my layout on top off. The glittery stripes add a great level of texture and interest. This simple technique, done with a versatile adhesive…
