Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim here, hope you are settling into a great summer routine and finding time to enjoy these lovely, long days! I love the extra energy the sunshine seems to gift us, I find time to enjoy so much more, and that includes scrapbooking. Even after a busy day, I am ready for an hour or two to unwind in my craft room. This week I pulled out the March Sketchy Challenge again. My first layout with this sketch can be found on the Facebook Sketchy Gallery. I took the scale down to an 8.25 x 8.25, and believe it or not I used an instruction book that came with a recent purchase. It’s a good base to create over, travellers notebook size and a fun way to up-cycle some waste. Once I have figured out where I want my papers and emebellishments to be, I like to…
Hey! Kim here with a quick layout share! Before our summer holidays, I got my hands on the Maritime Collection by Creative Memories. I knew I would have some Nova Scotia memories that would play perfectly with this collection of beautiful papers. The colour palette has a soft hazy vibe to it, I love it! My layout simply layers papers, journal cards, stickers and border die cuts; all from the collection. I edged my papers and embellishments with Ranger Distress Ink before adhering them down. A few Wild Whisper aqua sequins were added to the wave die cut border for some added dimension and pop of colour. My little cluster of embellishments are stickers and part of a die cut border that is part of the Maritime collection. I added a few Wild Whisper sequin leaves to give the feel of sunlight hitting the seaweed…it often shimmers in the sun!…

Hello everyone – Christy Riopel here! I love Core’dinations ColorCore pre-embossed cardstock. It makes a great base for a mixed media technique page. I started by dry brushing gesso over the entire surface of the teal paper. Don’t add water as that may lessen the embossing a bit. I then added Clearsnap ColorBox dye ink to the raised surfaces by directly rubbing the ink pad on them. I love the how antique the finished look is. I used Core’dinations ColorCore die cuts on the page as some of the many layers I have under my photo. Supply list: Core’dinations ColorCore paper and die cuts, May Arts Ribbon, paper doily, gesso, Clearsnap ColorBox dye ink, Marvy pen, Beacon Adhesive, Photo by Allison Orthner. Have a wonderful Monday everyone! To see more of Christy’s work – visit her blog – Creating a Life I Love to Share
I know there are many of us in love with the gorgeous styles of stamps, dies and papers designed by Heartfelt Creations. Their booth at CHA was sooo beautiful! I think this paper crafted dress form captures the essence of this wonderful company! Their floral dies are…well…to “die” for. This is evident on all their projects on display. Their newly released “Majestic Morning” collection includes a paper pack, dies and stamps. It’s gorgeous! All collections on display are stunning, actually. You can use Heartfelt Creations products to design scrapbook layouts and paper crafts too! Isn’t this birdhouse fabulous? Seeing this wall of layouts in their booth was inspirational. This layout is one of my favourites! How elegant! Valentines and Easter projects were also on display. Honestly, my head was spinning…I’d never seen so many amazing projects on display all in one place! Walking…
