Hello Creative Scrapbookers!
Kim here, hope you are settling into a great summer routine and finding time to enjoy these lovely, long days! I love the extra energy the sunshine seems to gift us, I find time to enjoy so much more, and that includes scrapbooking. Even after a busy day, I am ready for an hour or two to unwind in my craft room.
This week I pulled out the March Sketchy Challenge again. My first layout with this sketch can be found on the Facebook Sketchy Gallery.
I took the scale down to an 8.25 x 8.25, and believe it or not I used an instruction book that came with a recent purchase. It’s a good base to create over, travellers notebook size and a fun way to up-cycle some waste.
Once I have figured out where I want my papers and emebellishments to be, I like to take a quick photo so I can remember where things go back when I adhere them down.
I used the product that I purchased for the June VIP Zoom Crop, hosted by Chantal from Simple Stated Design to create my layout. I LOVE the finished layout and story it tells and might add that the colours of this collection make me skip!
I used a little touch of Therm-o-web Deco Foil to add an element that creates texture, shine and leads the eye to that amazing honey bee embellishment. It’s held in place with a thin piece of double sided adhesive. Therm-o-web also has a great tape runner that did all the important work to keep things stuck down…adhesive is a scrapbooker’s best friend!
I look forward to working in this ‘found’ travellers notebook…I’ll be back to share the progress!
