Hello everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share with you a wonderful product I have discovered.  Have you heard of Viva Decor Inka Gold? It’s a unique metallic paste that adds beautiful glimmer and shine to your project. Here’s a short informative description I found on the Viva Decor website.

“Viva Decor’s Inka Gold is a revolutionary product that produces an amazing metallic finish without any toxic chemicals. With beeswax as one of the main ingredients, Inka Gold is safe and easy to use in all crafting and home decor projects. Just rub it on and polish! Inka Gold comes in 20 brilliant high opacity colors. One jar of Inka Gold can cover up to 80 square ft. Excellent for refinishing or accenting furniture. Also great for paper mache boxes, chipboards, card making, scrapbooking. and much more.”

Although it has a million applications, I used the Inka Gold in 3 different techniques on my scrapbook layout: applying with a stencil, altering card stock and stamping.

I have been wanting to scrap this Instagram photo of my daughter that I took last summer.  She had been searching for quite some time for a vintage typewriter. Then one day her Opa (German Grandpa) says, “Oh, I have an old typewriter.  Do you want it?” Where does she end up with it?  In bed, typing away, and I love how she dreams up all kinds of brilliantly creative stories.  She definitely has a vintage soul.

I thought the butterflies on the cloud paper were the perfect way to convey a sense of creative expression, almost soaring out of her bedroom. There are 20 colours of Inka Gold, but I used “Gold”.

I placed the Magenta stencil “Nature Elements” (TM28) on the background paper and held it firmly in place while I smeared on the Inka Gold with my finger.  And bonus!  Inka Gold washes off completely and easily with water…both my finger and stencil!

After holding firmly in place, lift off the stencil….and voila! It dries very quickly too.

To alter my card stock, I simply rubbed it on the paper directly with my finger.  This lovely oval die cut is from the Spellbinders Elegant Ovals Nestabilities set.

Then to bring out that beautiful metallic shine, I buffed it with a scrap piece of cotton cloth. Once you buff it, it does NOT come off.

Finally, I stamped with Inka Gold, using the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Swallowtail butterfly stamp and rubbing Inka Gold on it with…you guessed it…my finger.

Then I spritzed the stamp with water and stamped it onto my card stock.

The result was this lovely, delicate golden image…soft and dreamy. After rubbing more Inka Gold along the edges, I cut out the butterfly and used it to mat my photo.

That is the magic of Inka Gold!
