Hello! Kim here again today shining our CSM spotlight on a company that is dear to our hearts, Heartfelt Creations! I hope to share some fun facts about this family company as well as a layout using their Tropical Paradise collection, just one of many favourite product lines they create.WHO THEY ARE This lovely family owned company got started in 1997 by Linda Bontrager, wearer of many hats: CEO, main artist, passionate scrapbooker, stamper, mother, wife…the list is long! I encourage you to read Linda’s fascinating letter about discovering and growing her passion for her creative life and family! I have always sensed that passion and love runs this company, even before taking the time to learn more about them, as women we often have good intuition! My thoughts are validated when I read this: “We exist to dynamically inspire, uplift, and add value to each person that comes in…
Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today with an easy watercolour technique you can use on a card or other crafty project. I created this card with a beautiful Magenta stamp, Chameleon Pens, and a Sizzix embossing folder using Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock paper. First, I inked up my Magenta stamp with Clearsnap Colorbox white pigment ink, and stamped and heat embossed onto white Superstock. I wanted a white outline background to colour in. Magenta rubber stamps have gorgeous, intricate details that show up perfectly when stamped! To create a watercolour effect, I took out my set of Chameleon Pens. These alcohol ink pens are amazing! You have all shades or tones of colour in a single pen. So for the yellow petals, I coloured in gradations of yellow because the Chameleon pen allows you to add toner to the pen nib with a couple of easy steps. There’s a LOT…
Watercolouring is everywhere right now, and I am just drinking up all its wonder and glory. I want to show you how amazingly quick and easy these cards are!! To create this card you have three simple steps: On watercolour paper, stamp an image with Versamark and heat emboss it with white embossing powder. Apply heat with your heat gun. Stamp your block with your ink pad. Fill your aqua painter brush with water. Dip brush in ink and colour on your paper using brush strokes (see supply picture below) Use a heat gun to dry if you want but it’s not necessary. Gently wipe off any ink on your stamped image.Voila!! To up the stakes a little bit, this next card was created by inking the stamp and then misting the inked stamp with water. You can ink the stamp using markers or refill ink – whatever you prefer.…
Today we are welcoming guest Shona Keehn to our blog, who is a talented member of the FabScraps Design Team! My name is Shona Keehn. I have been on the FabScraps DT for the past 2 years, and I just adore their collections! I love that each collection has little extras that make completing your projects so easy. One of Fabscraps newest collections is called Industrial Chic, and today I have a layout to share that I have created using it. The papers are amazing. I have fussy cut some of the birds and flowers from the papers and tucked them in here and there. Look at all those gorgeous chipboard pieces….also part of the collection! It is an honour to be part of the FabScraps family, and I am thrilled that Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine asked me to share with you! Thank you, Shona, for sharing your inspirational project. We…
Hello Everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some stamping on a Father’s Day Card. With some wonderful Stampin’ Up! products, I made a really cute card (which my kids will probably give to their Dad! ha ha) These papers are actually a winter collection, but I think they work great for Father’s Day, don’t you? I used this awesome chevron border punch along the bottom of the card base. I just love this Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge set and used 3 of the stamps for this card. I stamped this striped piece to layer over the heart with the sentiment, which I hand wrote. I added that teeny jaw clip just because it’s so adorable! I also drew the heart on card stock and cut it out, then stamped the spattered dots on it. Behind the punched chevron border, inside the card base, I stamped these grunge lines:…
