Desiree Saskiw here! Iย must admit that I had taken a stamping hiatus for some time, but this fun Magenta โSavvy Symbolsโ stamp set inspired me to pull of the ink and embossing powders and get to work! I have always been drawn to using circles as part of my paper creations so this birthday card was no exception. I enjoyed the contrast that was created between the use soft lines in the circles and hearts, with the straight lines of the arrows. The number stamps were a fun addition; counting up to the Happy 10th birthday for my niece Jaeanna! SUPPLIES: Magenta stamps, Clearsnap ink, DCWV patterned paper, May Arts Ribbon, Stampin’ Up! embossing powder, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D foam squares and tape runner. Happy Stamping
Hi Everyone! ย Jodi Willtonย ย ย here today, to share with a little project using DCWV WHITEBOARD paper (yes, I said WHITEBOARD!).ย I donโt know about you, but my toddler LOVES to use paper, and more paper and more paper. As soon as I saw that DCWV has whiteboard paper, I knew I had to create something that would be reusable for her! So I started by spray painting a clipboard white. (Be sure to use a couple of coats). Next I measured my clipboard, then cut the whiteboard paper to just fit on top of the clipboard. I used my Beacon Adhesives 3 in 1 glue to ensure the paper is adhered really well!ย Next I used the Vintage Basics Stack and added 1 inch paper borders to the edges of the clipboard. I added a cute little punched out heart and circle to accent the clip at the top.…

I love submission calls! Often when I am out of creative ideas, a page call is just the thing to spark ideas! For the Spring issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine (PICK YOURS UP TODAY) there is a fun loving article for Tye Dye you won’t want to miss! For the TIE DYE page call, my first thought was how to create the look using products I have. The more I thought of it the more I realized that TIE DYE was more than just a technique, it evoked a feeling. A feeling of free spirit, happy times, freedom and just โchillingโ with your friends! So these cards evolvedโฆ For the TIE DYE technique I used Ranger Distress Ink Refills and Perfect Pearl Mists. I chose these inks because they are very reactive with water or water based products such as the Pearl Mists, which allow them to flow, move and…

By Christy Riopel I took this shot at a very unusual event last summer. It was a head shaving party for my 16 year old daughterโs best friend. Victoria was diagnosed with cancer and though her prognosis was favourable she would have to undergo treatments and that would mean she could lose her hair. Now as an adult it is easy to say, โBetter her hair then her lifeโ, but to a teenage girl it must have been horrifying. SUPPLIES: Stampinโ Up! patterned paper, ink, stamps, pen and adhesives. Not her though, she took charge of the situation and threw a party, and shaved her head. Her courage was amazing and inspiring and this photo was so special to me. It required just the right paper that showed the strength of her heart and the beauty of her face. Using Stampinโ Up! paper and stamps I was able to…
Thinking of You Card by Jayme Loge First the steps: Start by stamping a background onto some cardstock, using waterproof ink. I used Clearsnap’s Archival Dye inks for this step. I stamped two images in the background (the small dots are a Hero Arts for Doodlebug Designs stamp, and the script is by Stampin’ Up!). Next, get ready for some inky fun! I took a used dryer sheet and cut it into 2″ squares, and spritzed them with three colours of Clearsnap ย Smooch Spritz. Once they were dry, I mod podged them over top of the background I stamped earlier. Once it was dry, I tore off edges and tied some ribbon around it before attaching it to an embossed background. I punched the butterfly out of a double sided adhesive sheet and applied some Clearsnap glitter to it, then attached it to the ribbon. Last step was stamping…
Have you seen these beautiful intricate dies from Spellbinders?ย ย ย They are just gorgeous, and with a few little tricks, easy to use. I absolutely love this little die called ‘Cattails’.ย Although I have to say, I’m a prairie girl, and while I’m sure the die could look like cattails, to me, it looks like wheat.ย So that’s what I used it for.ย Stalks of ripe wheat, blowing in the breeze. The first time I tried using this die, I discovered it was not quite as simple as all of the other Spellbinders dies I have used over the years.ย Because it is so intricate and highly detailed, I had a few issues with it cutting all the way through, and then had trouble actuallyย getting the paper out of the die.ย ย I had a quick look on the internet for some suggestions on how to make it easier.ย ย I found…
