Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim here with a layout share full of warm, tropical vibes! I am just back from a weekend retreat with some of my favourite people. We shared stories, scrapbooking supplies, laughs and great foodโฆthere may have been some wine as well. Most of my friends were so productiveโฆI was not. I do not create well at retreats. I know this and I accept thisโฆyet I keep going to them. Why? Because surrounding myself with creative people, โmyโ people and craft supplies fills up my mojo. These people feed my energy and my soul! I pack supplies knowing they will only be shuffled around and put back when I get home. Today was my day off. Between laundry, tidying and walking the dog I finished this layout. Little bursts of paper breaks mixed into my dayโฆhow about that!? Itโs how I create; quietly in my own space, knowing…
Hello! Kim here with a quick card share using the Heartfelt Creations Summerโs Garden collection. For my card, I have used some patterned paper and the 2 craft die sets, shown in the photo below. These dies cut images found within the collection or can be used with coordinating stamps! The background of my card is cut from one sheet of patterned paper, to which I added some Therm-O-Web Transfer Gel Duo through a โwell lovedโ Stampers Anonymous stencil! I let the gel dry, then ran it through my laminator to apply some shimmery deco foil details. While the Transfer Gel Duo was drying I readied my elements for the card. I made my 3D flower, securing the layers with little snippets of my Elizabeth Craft Designsโ double-sided adhesive. I coloured my wooden sentiment [unknown supplier] with Rangerโs Distress Oxide Ink, Crackling Campfire was the perfect colour for my paper!…
One of the greatest forms of flattery is to imitate or copy. In the world of scrapbooking or cardmaking, we are always flooding our brains with inspiration from several sources. My favourites source is Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Whether browsing between the covers of the most recent issue or scrolling through their Facebook and Instagram feeds, their shares and styles always seem to match my own. Recently on Instagram, this card by @rlbreaks was shared and I loved it! It did not take me long to try to find a way to imitate it with the supplies I had on hand. It was a simple card to recreate in multiples to meet my Valentine’s needs! So be inspired! Imitate and copy with your own twist, but ALWAYS be sure to credit your source! That way they know they have inspired, itโs a WIN-WIN! Supplies: Ranger Industries: Distress Oxide Ink & Archival…
Kim here with a quick mixed media tag share! Not too long ago I shared an Instagram story showing two tags I had made using Distress Oxide Sprays and my new Dylusionsโ stencils. I had just received some happy mail that included some amazing new releases from Ranger and I couldnโt wait to play. The stencils were new, the Distress Oxides from my growing Oxide ink stash. The tags sat on my desk for a few days before I layered them up with some Dina and Dyan love! I used an image from the first Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective. Newer collectives ย have been released this year and are equally as amazing! I used the stencil to add some words & hearts and finished off with some Dylusions Paint Pens to do some mark making. My second tag got layered up with a stenciled border and images from my new…
Kim here with a fun project share using the Stampers Anonymous Merry Misfits stamps! Oh, how I LOVE these little guys! They are PERFECT for Christmas tags! The Misfits just make me smile and take a little stress out of the chaos of Christmas! Along with the Misfit stamps, I also used Ranger’s Simon Hurley Classic Flannel stamp, Distress Oxide Inks and a Shifter stencil! These products ALL play so well together! Have fun adding tags to your Christmas gifts this season! Maybe you could wrap up a Creative Scrapbooker Magazine subscription! Now THAT would be a sweet gift to receive!
Hello everyone! Kim here, happy to be on the Creative Scrapbooker blog again. Have you seen the โFOILED AGAINโ article in the spring issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine? Itโs so awesome and so on trend! Foils are everywhere in the scrapbooking industry right now and so many ways to get the look. You can buy papers that are foiled, you can mimic the look with metallic embossing powders, there are lots of foiled stickers available and of course you can buy many products that use foil sheets. My project was inspired by this feature article from the magazine. I love to add foil finishes to my projects with Therm-O-Web products. They have so many options for you to control the foiled look of your project, from toner sheets, adhesives, pens and transfer gels…and crazy amounts of foil colours to choose from! My layout has a mixed media vibe to it,…
Kim Gowdy here today with a fun little, mixed media tag to share. I love that all these wonderful mixed media products have oozed into the scrapbooking and card making world. Do you? I believe that any hobby that we stick with for a long time needs to challenge us to keep us interested and engaged. Scrapbooking continues to do just that for meโฆfrom my photography to trying new products and techniques, this industry still holds my interest after 12 years! Letโs take a peek at my tag and process. Let’s create the base! Thanks for joining me. I love how my tag turned out. Iโm not sure yet how I will use. It may become a scrapbook page element, I may tuck it into an art journal or I may use it on a bottle of wine to give to my hubby to celebrate a milestone anniversary. The photo…
Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Itโs Jayme here with a rare occurrence. I created a masculine layout. As the mother to a daughter, I donโt get the opportunity very often. I do scrapbook my husband, of course, but he is usually photographed with me or my daughter. Feminine layouts are certainly my comfort zone. Thank goodness for nephews! They add color and they get me out of my scrapbooking box! Here is the result- I hope you like it as much as I did. Supplies used- Patterned paper, stickers: Bella Blvd – Chipboard: Blue Fern Studios – Stencil: Magenta For the final touches I added some Ranger Dylusions paint! I originally thought I would be serious about adding color to the background in an orderly fashion. Then I realized, I am a Jayme, and who am I going to kid with antics like that? Let the messy play begin! So, it was…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout featuring Momenta cardstock and Art-C texture cream. ย My youngest played team handball at school this past year and I wanted to scrapbook the photographs the school took of the team. I started with a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock and applied Art-C silver texture cream through an Art-C plastic stencil on both sides of the page. Don’t be shy, just smear that texture cream with a palette knife or an old credit card generously through the stencil. ย It’s easy to do and just adds such a neat touchable texture to your page. Let dry. ย It doesn’t take long. ย I then took a couple of pieces of Momenta cardstock and layered them in the middle of the page. ย If you have not used this brand of cardstock, you need to go check it out. ย It’s heavy and beautifully textured and a pleasure…
Hi Everyone! It’s Kelly here to share my new Double the Fun sketch and layout….for our Spring 2016 issue! A double sketch sure comes in handy for big events involving lots of photos, like my daughter’s Graduation last May. I think I will be scrapping those pics a lot especially because a really talented and creative photographer took them.ย Thank you Madeline Ludlage Photography! I used mostly Momenta papers and products for the design. This gorgeous paper pack by Momenta is called “Perched”. This cardstock patterned paper has beautiful collage images on it. I used a pretty floral Momenta Stencil with aย Faber-Castell Texture Gems Gel Linerย on the right page. I also used this gold Gel Liner to add dimensional flourishes to each side of my title, which are Momenta alphabet stickers. This gorgeous layered Momenta bird die is so pretty with the embossing. I layered May Arts gold pearl ribbon…
