Technique Tasters Web Show #96 – Distress Crayons Stencilling Technique  – is probably one of my favourite videos we videoed with Christy Riopel. Ranger Distress Crayons had just entered the scrapbooking scene at the time and although I had purchased all that were available, I really had no idea how to use them. This short little video opened up a whole world of possibilities and in true Christy style – she made the technique look so very simple that even I can’t seem to screw it up! The Project The Supplies Ranger Distress Crayons. You can purchase these crayons individually or in sets of 6. Today there is a total of 10 sets of 6 colours. YUMMY! Art-C self adhesive stencils come in a large variety of sizes and shapes and sentiments. They are truly easy to use and THEY STICK! I love that – no worrying about your medium…

It is always a treat to have our very own designer Kelly Klapstein on our web show Technique Tasters #114 – Making Waves and Words with the Brother ScanNCut. On this show, Kelly will walk you through a variety of different techniques she used to create this Bon Voyage card. The techniques include – stamping, drawing and cutting with the Brother ScanNCut, creative lettering AND the addition of BoBunny Glitter Paste – which just happens to be a personal favourite of mine. Thanks Kelly! Kelly put together a variety of different products to create the title, the stamped image and my favourite – the glitter wave at the bottom of the card. Products Used The Brother ScanNCut cut out AND drew a number of elements on this card. You definitely want to check out how the ScanNCut also draws with just about any pen.  BoBunny patterned paper along with some fabulous…

What an absolute treat it was to have Els Van de Burgt from Elizabeth Craft Designs on our web show Technique Tasters #113 – Creating Backgrounds for Cards. Els is the owner of Elizabeth Craft Designs and has been creating, teaching and spreading the love of paper crafts for years. On today’s show Els pulled out a number of her very own products including cardstock, dies, stamps and adhesives. Along with Tim Holtz for Ranger oxide inks and Sakura Pigma Micron PN pens to create this beautiful card. Oxide Ink Effect The cool oxide water effect you see in the background is all the rage right now. It looks rather intimidating, however, as you watch the video you will discover that it is really rather simple to create and fool proof! The other cool fact about this technique is that NO two creations look the same. Products Used To create…

Over the years we have shared so many wonderful memories with Christy Riopel whether it be scrapbooking, touring a city, giggling over a tasty meal or simply enjoying the love we all share of ART.  Of all these memories I am most grateful for our TV Show – Technique Tasters that we filmed together in Calgary. After a few years of doing the show we finally convinced Christy to join us and share her creative soul with our online community. I am so glad she said YES! In a very short time we filmed SIX shows – and had soooo many more planned for the future. We have – forever – in our memory boxes these videos of her laughing, creating and teaching us. Technique Tasters – Web Show #85 – Layering with Die Cuts This was one of our very first shows filmed together.  Christy was a natural. I…
