Today we’d like to introduce to you a company that is near and dear to our CSM hearts! WESTCOTT has been in business since 1872! That’s a lot of years of providing quality products to customers who are obviously happy! As scrapbookers, cardmakers and paper crafters; we all use tools to cut. Trimmers, scissors and hobby knives are probably what come to mind first for most of us. We don’t often sing praises to our cutting tools, we just take them for granted…unless of course they aren’t working for us! Westcott has made it their business to study the science and engineering behind great tools. From award winning titanium bonded, non-stick scissors, comfort grip hobby knives to trimmers that step up to the plate – Westcott has you covered. Their website is a great resource for ALL their products as well as many project ideas. You can also find them…

Hi Everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share my layout based on the September Sketchy Challenge. Here is my sketch: I used the gorgeous Kaisercraft collection “Botanica.” Actually, these products were in my September kit from ScrapShotz. With this Kaisercraft stamp set and  “Avocado” ink, I added a subtle pattern of leaves to the solid green paper layers. When you stamp several times or ‘values’ without reloading with ink, you can create your own patterned paper (learned from the great ink queen herself, Cathie Allan!) The leaves are cut with my Brother ScanNCut machine After cutting them from mixed media paper, I watercoloured them with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I also used my Tombow pens for hand lettering  my title “Hello.” Here is a video on my YouTube channel that shows how I created the watercolour leaves. https://youtu.be/Yhj_8jnlzHM I would love to see what you create with my…

To make sure we are up to date with all the latest and greatest cutting tools, we always visit the Westcott booth at the Craft & Hobby tradeshow. Love this Craft 6 Pack… all your cutting essentials in ONE package! Or you can still choose animal print scissors! There are cutting and measuring tools for professionals too, not only hobbyists. Even alphabet and shapes stencils are available. I HAVE to get these awesome fringe scissors! The pinking shears cut through layers of paper or fabric. The hot product being demo’ed was the Axis iPoint Evolution Electric Heavy Duty pencil sharpener. Your colour pencils will be super sharp! Check out the tip of this pencil! This really fine sharp tip will allow you to colour all those intricate designs. There’s a smaller iPoint electric sharpener for school or home… So stay SHARP…and check out Westcott’s website for more product information.  Click HERE!

Hello everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some designing tips using Spellbinders® dies.  I created this vintage layout by layering Spellbinders die cuts behind my photo. I used the beautiful graphic 45 “Botanical Tea” collection, which I thought was perfect for this photo of my mom and her friends having a casual tea party back in 1953. This gorgeous Spellbinders Nestabilities® set called “Elegant Ovals” (S4-425) die cut beautifully with this cream card stock (which came in the graphic 45 paper pack) Just look at those intricate cut designs! You cannot get that result from an electronic cutting machine. I used the dies themselves to trace the same shapes from patterned paper to fit inside each Elegant Oval. All of my embellishments are either graphic 45 stickers or fussy cut from the patterned papers. I can always count on Spellbinders dies for intricate cut designs that really pop…
