Honestly now. How cute is this herd?
Although these are simple cards, colouring can sometimes take time. Truthfully, I don’t feel like colouring in detail most of the time. Anything that takes time is not my style. (Patience, much?) Instead, I’ll stamp several images on some white cardstock and colour while watching one of my favourite shows. And let’s get serious… January is unofficially “camp out and watch TV” month.
So, how did I do it? These are Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities markers. They are alcohol based and come in sets of three, which includes a light, medium and dark shade. They have them in packs of three because it takes all the guesswork out of how to blend and shade.
There is a knack to colouring and blending but my rule of thumb is always – colour what looks “right” to you. You can think about the light source and colour from dark to light or light to dark but at the end of the day, sometimes its what looks the most appealing to you, that will help guide your way.
What do I like to do? Well, I like to colour dark to light. I will outline with the dark. Then layer a medium stroke just inside the dark outline. Then I will colour everything light. If I make a mistake I might try to use the colour lifter marker, which helps with mistakes, but mostly moves the inks around.
It’s fun. And relaxing. Try it!

I haven’t tried these markers yet but sounds like I need to soon! Thanks for the write up!
I just started to learn how to use these. Although I only have a couple sets they seem to work well.
LOVE IT!!! I can’t wait to get my blendabilities to test out. I forsee some more colors being bought in the future and hiding them from my girls lol
