Hey guys, Tracy McLennon here!
I’m back today with a project that I created using some really fun stuff from Art-C and May Arts Ribbon. They offer so many great and innovative products that can be used for papercrafting, mixed media, home decor and on and on.
My little project today is a small 6×6 shadowbox frame. This frame I made for myself, a photo from our wedding day, and sand from the beach we got married on. Shadow box frames can be precious keepsakes. They can also make beautiful gifts for the ones you love.
Project Recipe:
Art-C- Bottles (EMB-23658)
Compass Charm
Sea Charms (EMB-23831 R6)
Keys (EMB-23305)
May Arts Ribbon– Linen Ribbon (flower)
Linen Ribbon with Brown Stitching
Natural Burlap String
I have had this linen flower made from May Arts Ribbon for a long time now, and thought it would be perfect for this project. Originally it had a button in the middle. But I thought the seashells would be perfect.
I braided the burlap string to give it a little more structure. Then every inch or so, I added in a charm. I love how it turned out.
Once the flower and the charms were glued in place, I added the linen ribbon around the whole frame.
I kept the inside of the frame pretty simple. I wanted to showcase the photo and the few keepsakes at the bottom. I simply added some cork on the inside of the frame. I matted the photo only once. Then I started glueing my keepsakes in place.
I used the Art-C Bottle to house the sand from the beach we were married on. I did add a little hot glue to the lid, to make sure it wouldn’t spill over time. Then I added the burlap string wrapped around the top of the bottle and tied the key into the bow.
On the other side I used another Art-C Bottle to create a message in a bottle. Just by inking and tearing a small piece of cardstock.
Thanks for checking out my Art-C and May Arts Ribbon creation!
