I just love this photo of my daughter and her best friend. It just exudes pure happiness, which they both are full of. I think we have printed in and it’s in several frames in her room, it’s also one of her faves!

So, it only makes sense to create a layout with it. In years she will look back and remember the day it was taken, her relationship with her best friend, and the happiness they always shared when together.I started with a neutral base for my layout and wanted muted tones for the color palette, the swimsuits are full of bright pink color and didn’t want too much fighting with them. I thought that the “love life always” sentiment was just so fitting, so I made room to get it in the layout. For a few fun accents, I used beach appropriate dies. The great thing about Spellbinders dies, is the ability to be able to stencil through them and add more depth to the die cut. For the Sand Dollar, I used a Kraft color cardstock, and with the die cut still inside the die, I added Desert Sand Memento ink using my Tool ‘n One with the foam applicator tip. For the Seahorse, I used a Ivory color cardstock and repeated the same process using Antique Linen Distress Ink.

For a few more final details, I used a label from the Label & Accent set to add an element to the upper right corner. From the same set and patterned paper, I used the swirl flourish to pop out from behind the right sand dollar. I also doubled up the label shape from the Hipster 1 set for some journaling just left of the photo. I love to stack label shapes on top of each other with patterns peeking out from behind.

To finish it off, I added some journaling around the edge of the patterned paper, and added some highlights on to the sand dollars using the irRESISTible Pico Embellisher.
