Hello Everyone!
Corina Finley here with you today to share my ‘Simple Pleasures’ Coffee themed layout featuring Heartfelt Creations and Southern Ridge Trading Co. chipboard.
I created this page to capture my Sunday morning ritual. On Sundays, my oldest son brings me my first cup of coffee of the day in bed! I get to start my day by laying back and relaxing with my dog Kuma. He thinks that the king size bed really belongs to him and sleeps whichever direction he wants!
I like to start my projects by collecting the supplies that I think I will need from around my studio and having them on my work surface. I do still have to grab other items as my design idea changes but I find by doing this it cut back on getting distracted.
I chose to use Bazzill Java cardstock and the Coffee Bean Pattern Paper from Heartfelt Creations Coffee Talk Collection as my base. Before I adhered the Coffee Bean Pattern Paper to the Java cardstock, I tore the pattern paper in three places so the ribbon lace could peek through. I then added on top, the Beige/White pattern paper from the same Heartfelt Creations Collection, which I matted with Twig Bazzill cardstock. I used the Tim Holtz paper Distresser Tool on all the edges of the cardstock and patterned paper.
I cut out the perfect title for my page ‘Simple Pleasures’ from another sheet from the Collection. I also Fussy cut the Cups & Spoon and the Parchment with the Saying.
I used the scraps from the base pages and the scraps from the pattern paper to die cut the Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Flower die set. I also used the matching stamp set, Bold Vintage Florets with Desert Sand dye ink to create a few flowers. I love using the matching sets – It gives you a lot more possibilities to create!
I also used scraps to create my leaves. I folded the pattern paper so I had a 4 layered rectangle. I then used a pencil and hand drew two leaf outlines. I cut them out using scissors and shaped them using a stylus.
I coated the detailed Southern Ridge Trading Co. chipboard pieces with Tombow Mono Glue and sprinkled with Micro Fine Glitter in the colour Java on top. Tapped off the excess and I set these embellishments aside to dry.
I layered my pattern paper fussy cuts, beautiful glittered chipboard embellishments, handmade flowers and photo with matte down on my layout base. I added pearls to the center of the flowers and tucked in the leaves. I also added a few pearls here and there to add a finishing touch!
