Hello and welcome back crafty friends! Tracy McLennon here, and today I have a little liquid gold inspired layout to share with you. My layout is inspired by my husband’s love for craft beer. I don’t like beer myself, but what I do enjoy is exploring these fabulous local businesses and the art and design that goes into their craft. As soon as I set eyes on these fabulous stamps from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection….I knew I had to have them for just this reason. Even just as the stamp alone, don’t they look fabulous?I created my layered background and then did a few simple mixed media steps in order to frame the area where my matted photo would be. A little blending and splattering, and let dry. Then I stamped the beer mug and beer bottle onto the layout itself in black ink. This ends up simply as a…

Hello everyone! Nicole Wright here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine creating a fun Christmas tag. Holiday crafting is in full swing and you may have a Christmas tag or two left to create. Today I am sharing this easy resist background for your next Christmas tag or any paper crafting project.  Plaid is one of my favourite patterns and it’s even more fun to make your own background.  This way you can coordinate any colour you want.   It only takes a few easy steps and a lot of inky fingers. Lets get started. Putting Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock card stock through it’s paces with stenciling, embossing, spraying and inking for this tag.  Start with the clear embossing powder and stencil to create the resist. Heat dry the spray stain and wipe the extra stain off the embossed pattern.  The clear embossing powder creates the resist allowing the white background…

Everything is designed around this vintage centrepiece. Wire baskets hold my stamps and apple crate boxes house my extensive Sizzix library.  IKEA wire shelves are perfect for all my Ranger inky things. Glass jars are full of seasonal embellishments, twine and paper dolls. Floating shelves show off my favorite pieces I…

Hey crafty peeps… Nicole here and I get to share this fun tutorial on  Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.  I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer for Ranger with all these vibrant Mini Archival Inks and stretch beyond Jet Black. This tutorial is an experiment for me and I love the results the Mini Archival Inks create.  These crisp colors provide a detailed stamped image allowing versatility even when watercoloring. The Mini Archival Inks are just the right size for adding ink in select areas of the rubber stamps.  Allowing me to ink and build each stamped image.  Each ink is easily cleaned off the Archival Cleaner. Dry your stamp with some paper towel then add more color to the leaves and petals cleaning between. The new Tonic Stamp Platform was the perfect tool to…

Hello everyone – Tracy McLennon here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog sharing this beautiful butterfly card I designed using some of my favourite products from Stampin’ Up!, Ranger, Chameleon Color Tone pens and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I used watercolour paper and Tim Holtz for Ranger Distress Oxide Inks to create this rust like background. To do this you need a non stick craft mat. Stamp the ink directly onto the craft mat, spray with water and mix with your fingers. Then dip the paper into the ink/water mixture. Dry with a heat gun. Then do the same with the next colour of ink. Dry again with a heat gun. Do the same with the third colour of ink. You can continue this process until you get the coverage you desire.I stamped this beautiful Stampin’ Up! butterfly image on white cardstock using Early Espresso Stampin’ Up! dye ink.…
