If you’re looking to add an eerie touch to your Halloween crafts, this spooky tag project with Lindy’s  Gang Pigment Powders and Ranger Distress Crackle Paste is a must-try!A spooky Halloween-themed tag featuring a black-and-white stamped mummy image from Stampers Anonymous, adhered to a purple background with crackle texture created using Lindy’s Pigment Powders and Ranger Distress Crackle Paste. The tag is framed with black cardstock, and a black ribbon is tied at the top. The sentiment “Blow away the cobwebs” is prominently displayed. In this tutorial, we’ll walk through the steps of creating a fun, textured tag using a combination of mixed media techniques. Let’s dive into how you can “blow away the cobwebs” and craft a spooky masterpiece!

Materials You’ll Need:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Create the Textured Background

Apply a thin layer of Ranger Dina Wakley Media White Gesso onto a heavy piece of cardstock. Then, use Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paste through a Stampers Anonymous stencil. Only apply the paste in a few sections to add interesting texture. Let the crackle paste dry completely. Tag base with white gesso and crackle paste applied through a brick stencil.

Step 2: Add Color with Lindy’s Gang Pigment Powders

Shake a small amount of Lindy’s Gang Magical Shakers Pigment Powder into water. Adjust the intensity of the color to your liking. Then, using a paintbrush, apply the pigment mixture over the dry crackle paste from Step 1.Applying purple Lindy’s Magical Shakers Pigment Powder to the tag.

Step 3: Add Doodles and Dots

Once the background is dry, use a Ranger Dylusions black paint pen to add some fun doodles and dot accents. These marks will make your spooky design pop! Adding doodles and dots with a black paint pen on the painted tag.

Step 4: Stamp and Cut the Halloween Image

Stamp the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz mummy image onto white cardstock using Ranger Archival black ink. Carefully cut out the stamped image with scissors.Stamped and cut mummy image from Stampers Anonymous set

Step 5: Assemble the Tag

Using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares, adhere the cut-out mummy to the tag base. Frame the entire tag with black cardstock to create a finished look. Add a Halloween sentiment of your choice—here, “Blow away the cobwebs” completes the spooky theme. Final tag with a stamped mummy adhered with 3D foam squares and Halloween sentiment.
