Spooky Treat Tags are the perfect Halloween project to show off your creativity and favorite products from Stampers Anonymous and Ranger! For today’s blog I will share the step-by-step photos and easy instructions to help you craft these eerie and fun tags โ ideal for dressing up your Halloween treat bags.
I started out by pulling out two favourite Halloween stamp sets by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous โ Boo Crazy CMS495 and Spooky Spirits CMS492 โ and let them inspire these playful ghostly creations.
How to Create the Spooky Treat Tags
-
Stamp the Background
Stamp the cobweb image from Boo Crazy CMS495 onto Ranger Mixed Media cardstock using Ranger Black Soot Archival Ink.
-
Die Cut Tag, Stamp and Emboss
Use the Sizzix Tag Collection die set to create the tag shape. Stamp a variety of ghost images and sentiments from Spooky Spirits CMS492. Heat set with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. Cut out the ghosts and sentiments, then ink the edges with Ranger Black Soot Archival Ink.
-
Add Texture and Shine
For the black tag, die cut from Ranger Black Mixed Media cardstock. Apply Ranger Distress Texture Paste Twinkle through the Stampers Anonymous THS014 Shatter stencil and let dry.
-
Create Colourful Tags
To achieve that gorgeous haunted glow, use Ranger Distress Sprays โ Wilted Violet Oxide, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet, and Hickory Smoke Spray Stains. Mist lightly with water, spray in layers, and dry between each colour for depth. Add water drops and heat dry again.
-
Emboss and Ink
Once dry, emboss with a Sizzix Dotted Embossing Folder and ink the edges with Ranger Distress Archival Ink in Black Soot.
-
Assemble and Finish
Attach ghosts using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares, layer the sentiments with liquid glue, and tie ribbon or twine through the tags.
These Spooky Treat Tags are easy to make in batches โ perfect for classroom treats, party favors, or just adding a creative touch to your Halloween gifts. With Stampers Anonymous Halloween Stamps and Ranger Distress Sprays, the colour and texture possibilities are endless!
Happy Halloween Friends!
