Creative Memories Forever Yours - with guest blogger Noreen Smith

Hello! I’m happy to be here to share a special layout created with products from the gorgeous new “Forever Yours” Collection by Creative Memories! The collection is designed to help you preserve your wedding memories, but it worked just as beautifully to preserve the memory of a very special woman.

My mom passed away recently and she’s been on my mind a lot. I wanted to create a layout to remember her by that featured one of the last photos taken of us before her Alzheimer’s disease became very advanced. I knew that the colors in the photo would work beautifully with the colors in the Forever Yours papers (rich cream, silvery gray, gold, navy and pink) and the coordinating Stickers and Pearl Adhesive Gems from the Embellishment Pack. I also used CM’s lustrous Gold Shimmer Cardstock as a backdrop, and Navy ABC/123 Stickers for my title.

I wanted to surround the photo (which I printed at 6” x 6”) with a beautiful bouquet of die-cut flowers and leaves which I created by using the Forever Yours Digital Artwork in Cricut Design Space! I simply uploaded the images I wanted, resized them and cut out multiple copies of them with my Cricut machine. Then I used CM’s Repositionable Adhesive on the back side of the die-cuts, adhered them to various Forever Yours papers and then fussy-cut the excess paper away. It was a little more time-consuming than my usual scrapbooking projects, but it wasn’t complicated, and I love the beautiful cut-work effect that it created! Once all my die-cuts were backed with paper I adhered them to my page with regular Tape Runner Adhesive, layering them to frame the photo. I added a navy lattice border sticker, the letters for my title, and a couple of word and heart stickers. I popped a few of the die-cuts and one of the hearts off the page with Foam Squares to give them added dimension. I finished the layout off with some of the lovely pearlized adhesive gems to give it a little glimmer and glow. I love the result!
