HELLO SUMMER!
Hey everyone, – Cathie Allan here – thought I would share with you a totally fun and easy card that you can create in the wee hours of the morning. Why? β¦ in the βwee hours of the morning?β β¦.. well, because, it is May 23rd and it is behaving like summer outside so we NEED to spend βsomeβ of our βcrafting timeβ in our gardens and on our deck. Β
Β I used totally βdoableβ stamping techniques toΒ create a fun, shape card that βwanted to be a slider cardβ. Β The background was simply stamped using a wonderful solid, daisy stamp from Impression Obsession and two fabulous pigment colors from Clearsnap. Since it was pigment ink, I was able to stamp the darker, Antique Pewter images first and then stamp the lighter, Buttercup images on top of the dark color.Β Pigment ink allows me to do this and I love that.
Β I thenΒ placed the piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock that I had altered in my Cathie Allan, Position-it2 and stamped the House Mouse image from Stampendous with my Wicked Black, Archival Ink. I heat set this image GENTLYΒ on my board. I love that this NEW Cathie Allan Position-it2 allows me to heat set images both with my heat gun & my iron. Oh! the creative opportunities this opens up J.Β I like to slip a piece of my heat resistant, crafting sheet between my project that is on my board and the board itself when I do this.
I chose to add color with a water color technique that I use that simply requires my re-inkers for my pigment stamp pads and a paint brush. No markers or special paints required. I do love mediums that multi-task! Then after adding my colors to the House Mouse image, I re-stamped the detail right back in. Notice that this was a wood stamp that I stamped using myΒ βPosition-it2β. This new tool is made to be used with all popular styles of rubber stamps. It is made to be used with wood stamps, clear stamps and cling stamps. It comes with all the accessories to enable us to use them all and it is an βalignment toolβ as well. This tool βdoes it all and does it easilyβ and did I forget to mention β¦. one tool for all sizes of paper!
Shape cards are fun β¦. and βYESβ this card stands up without rolling over. Adding the slide portion to the card adds even more fun to the card. The bookmark die from Impression Obsession was perfect for the slider. Fun to make, fun to receive and even more fun to give.
HAPPY SUMMER everyone! I hope it is one of your favourites.

A fun way to greet summer. Nice work and I love the result.
What a beautiful card. Where do you purchase the Cathy Alene Position it 2?
