Hello CSM scrapbookers! Kim here! It feels like it’s been so long since I last shared a project…likely because it’s so darn HOT in Alberta, which means my craft room is crazy hot! I melt in heat, making it hard to spend time there lately! Despite the heat, some Picket Fence Studio dies found their way to my room and called me to play. Both sets are designed for slimline cards, but as I played with them, so many ideas have come to mind for future scrapbooking use! My card is simple and FUN. My background was created with a cheap set of watercolour paints and Ranger water color paper. I literally just painted wide random stripes onto watercolour paper and let it dry. Using the two largest rectangle dies I cut my striped paper and a dark grey/black cardstock to create my background. Using an ephemera pack from the…

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim here today with a fun camping inspired layout that I hope you’ll enjoy! I am blessed with a craft room and lots of supplies to choose from. That may sound amazing, but honestly at times I think it stalls my creativity, giving me too many choices. On this particular scrapbooking session, I narrowed down my focus and picked a few products to work with, which in turn forces the other stuff out of the wayThe products I choose to work with were, Echo Park’s Little Lumberjack collection, Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials and MultiCraft glitter. I started by adhering 2 sheets of patterned paper together using Glue Dots Adhesive Sheets. Using the die from Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials set, I cut out two pages for my layout. I didn’t stress over which directions the tabs would be. They could have been high or low on…

Good morning and happy Monday! Kim here with a quick birthday card share today! This month I challenged myself to use the April Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for a card. Even before choosing my products, I knew I wanted to make the triangle accent from stamps! I created a paper mask from my Impression Obsession stamped image so I could easily overlap my stamped design making it look like one continuous image – I love how it turned out! I took a black marker and ruler to divide the two sides. I created three layered areas using stamps, stencil and Clearsnap Chalk ink! I fussy cut the bird image and layered it with the Impression Obsession die cut pine boughs and a little black tread. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was a perfect finishing touch! Thanks for taking the time to check out my card, try one of our…

HELLO SUMMER! Hey everyone, – Cathie Allan here – thought I would share with you a totally fun and easy card that you can create in the wee hours of the morning. Why? … in the “wee hours of the morning?” ….. well, because, it is May 23rd and it is behaving like summer outside so we NEED to spend “some” of our “crafting time” in our gardens and on our deck.   I used totally “doable” stamping techniques to  create a fun, shape card that “wanted to be a slider card”.  The background was simply stamped using a wonderful solid, daisy stamp from Impression Obsession and two fabulous pigment colors from Clearsnap. Since it was pigment ink, I was able to stamp the darker, Antique Pewter images first and then stamp the lighter, Buttercup images on top of the dark color.  Pigment ink allows me to do this and I…

Hey Crafters, Nicole Wright here and I’m back to share my love for industrial crafting.  With the new Sizzix  Gears available I decided to haul out my Sizzix Gadget Gears die (I believe the first Sizzix die I ever bought) and have a little fun experimenting with my embossing powders and distress crayons. I cut a set of Gadget Gears with Sizzix Little Sizzles White Mat Board.  I heat embossed a coat of Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Era Hammered Metal Embossing Powder.  This thick powder leaves open spots to add color.  I wanted to see if the distress crayons would work to create a weathered patina on the gears. On the set of gears I used Ranger distress crayons vintage photo, mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers and peeled paint.  The distress crayons fill in the areas the thick embossing powders don’t.  Once the colors are filled in I used a baby wipe to remove…

Hi there, Connie Nichol here with a scrapbook page featuring the CTMH Stuck on You stamps and matching thin cuts metal dies. The Stuck on You sets are available in the CTMH seasonal catalogue, but only until April 30, so grab them now before they are gone forever.  The stamps are so darn cute and the matching dies make it so easy to create a whole forest of cacti.  Use them to make a lovely card, or embellish a scrapbook layout.  The cacti are perfect for accenting any photos from a desert location, and I was lucky enough to travel to Phoenix for a few days last year.  I might have taken a few (i.e. hundreds) of photographs at the Desert Botanical Garden when I was there.  I was so happy to see this roadrunner.  Such a neat looking bird.  Unfortunately for me, the roadrunner song from Bugs Bunny and Wile E…
