Walking into the Sizzix booth, my heart pounds with excitement…the displays always impress! Although Sizzix is branching out into the fabric industry, the focus is paper crafting. Along with embossing folders, Sizzix is probably most well-known for dies and die cutting. The Tim Holtz “Alterations” line is still very popular. There is a new Vagabond 2, the electronic version of a Big Shot. Accompanying the Vagabond 2 are new tools and products, even storage cases for embossing folders and dies. The Big Shot has a new friend! A storage caddy! It fits on the side and attaches to the Big Shot. We all like to stay organized and this caddy will surely help! Sizzix has also released patterned paper pads that fit perfectly through the Big Shot and Vagabond without cutting down to size. Cutting pads are now in 4 different colours…so you can’t lose them on your studio desk…

Day 2 of our CHA Review brings us into the Elizabeth Craft Designs booth.  And you are going to “DIE” when you see all these wonderful products! (Hint:  Die Cutting Dreams Ahead!) Looking at the “Susan’s Garden” collection of dies is like stepping into a beautiful real life garden of projects. There are varying die sets that make varying dimensions of so many flowers. I had the pleasure of meeting Susan Tierney-Cockburn, the creative mind behind the stunning floral dies. Did you know about the tiny ladybug that is found in all of Susan’s designs? Karen Burniston is another incredibly talented designer who has a line of well-known 3D interactive die sets. Her Engineering background has produced the fun die sets called “Pop It Ups.” One theme is “Hot Air Balloons.” Jinks the monkey is new and oh so cute, with a coordinating bananas embossing folder! Baker the Beaver is…

My name is Kathy Jo Wood,  and it is an honor to be a guest blogger today! A little about me: I live in Waverley Nova Scotia with my handsome hubby, Greg. We are both mechanical engineers, we play ultimate Frisbee together, watch baseball and football together, and we are fortunate to have the best friends, families and furry family that two people could ever dream! Our furry family members include our sweet Saint Bernard, Ella, and three fluff ball kitties Ginger, Pepper and Nico. Most days I am in my craft room. During the work week I try to get into my craft room by 9pm, and it is not surprising for me to head to bed at midnight or after. I really enjoy my crafty time…

There’s always lots of excitement buzzing around the Sizzix booth at the Craft & Hobby Tradeshow! The vintage Tim Holtz displays are amazing as usual! Projects made with the new dies are on display…gorgeous grunge! Isn’t this coffee cup die fabulous? One of the most exciting new releases is the Tim Holtz Alterations line of punches: Each Sizzix licensed designer has a separate area of the booth.  It’s like leaving an antique store and walking into the sunshine! All of you stamping fans are going to LOVE visiting the Impression Obsession booth! Stamps and dies….as far as the eye can see! I especially loved how this booth was organized…. all the stamps and projects in groups with the designers’ names. There were so many beautiful card samples and projects as well to showcase all the stamps! Many displays featured a Valentine theme. Even Easter stamps were on display! There are so many background stamps to choose from, aptly titled “Cover A Card.” Don’t you love the square shape? Samples of these background stamps were mounted on boards with inks of many colours. Samples of die cuts were also on boards for display. Today on our blog we welcome Karan Gerber, who is on the Design Team for Heartfelt Creations! Hello everyone! My name is Karan Gerber, and I am thrilled to be with you here today. I reside in a small town called Sebringville, just minutes West of Stratford, Ontario. I have been on the Design Team for Heartfelt Creations  since November 2013 and have been invited to join them for another year heading into 2015. I was so excited when Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine asked me if I was interested in doing a blog post!  I have some Christmas Cards to share with you using the Festive Christmas collection. One of the many reasons I love Heartfelt Creations  is they make it so easy for you to create handmade cards right at home. Hello everyone!  It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some designing tips using Spellbinders® dies.  I created this vintage layout by layering Spellbinders die cuts behind my photo. I used the beautiful graphic 45 “Botanical Tea” collection, which I thought was perfect for this photo of my mom and her friends having a casual tea party back in 1953. This gorgeous Spellbinders Nestabilities® set called “Elegant Ovals” (S4-425) die cut beautifully with this cream card stock (which came in the graphic 45 paper pack) Just look at those intricate cut designs! You cannot get that result from an electronic cutting machine. I used the dies themselves to trace the same shapes from patterned paper to fit inside each Elegant Oval. All of my embellishments are either graphic 45 stickers or fussy cut from the patterned papers. I can always count on Spellbinders dies for intricate cut designs that really pop…

When you step inside the Spellbinders™ booth at CHA, it’s as if you’ve travelled back in time into a glamorous, Victorian mansion….filled with lace and jewelled treasures. These displays were showcases for Spellbinders “A Gilded Life Studio” , a mixed media product line for jewellery making, home decor, embellishments, paper crafts and so forth.     A vintage dress form made from dress patterns! Fabulous! Spellbinders also introduced a new collection of Shapeabilities™ dies that are trendy and smaller in size, called “In’Spire”…..the anchor, birds on wire, feathers, typewriter etc. The other new Shapeabilities collection is called “Create-A-Flower”, die sets of petals and flower pieces that you build to create beautiful realistic 3D flowers, which I didn’t photograph, but you’ll see on the Spellbinders website and blog in the upcoming weeks. One of the most exciting products newly released by Spellbinders is their new “Tool n’ One”, a portable tool that…
