Today on our blog, we welcome Kathy Jo Wood who makes stunning cards with Quietfire Design stamps and dies!
Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! My name is Kathy Jo Wood, and it is an honor to be a guest blogger today!
A little about me: I live in Waverley Nova Scotia with my handsome hubby, Greg. We are both mechanical engineers, we play ultimate Frisbee together, watch baseball and football together, and we are fortunate to have the best friends, families and furry family that two people could ever dream! Our furry family members include our sweet Saint Bernard, Ella, and three fluff ball kitties Ginger, Pepper and Nico.
Most days I am in my craft room. During the work week I try to get into my craft room by 9pm, and it is not surprising for me to head to bed at midnight or after. I really enjoy my crafty time and look forward to heading there every night. Crafting is a great way to tap into creativity and produce something unique or beautiful or fun or wherever the crafty road takes you. Also, I find that crafting helps the mind and relaxes the soul. As you can tell I am very happy being a crafter!
For a while I had a short list of company “Dream Teams” that I wanted to join. In the spring of 2014 I was fortunate to be asked to join a company “Dream Team”- that company was Canadian owned Quietfire Design. I cannot speak highly enough of Quietfire Design products, the owner and talented designer (Suzanne Cannon) and my fellow team mates. I feel beyond lucky to be on the team!
You may already be familiar with Quietfire Design as it has sponsored many of the giveaways and contests here at Canadian Scrapbooker. You may also recognize the gorgeous calligraphy and beautiful stamped sentiments. A fabulous fact: all of those beautiful stamp designs are hand drawn by Suzanne- no fonts are used on her product! Another exciting fact: Quietfire now has dies!
Today I will share three cards using Quietfire Design product. The first card uses one of Quietfire’s mounted stamps “You are sunlight to my heart” The card required several dies- which is not unusual for one of my cards as I love stacking dies!
The second card has one of Quietfire’s new dies: Believe . The card base has an interesting brick wall for texture. A mix of Tim Holtz inks with Stickles were used to create the starry background. The Believe die cut had Stickles applied for a sparkly accent.
The final card has the lovely Quietfire stamped sentiment “Friends are those rare people”. Such a wonderful and truthful sentiment! The sentiment is the focal point on this card that used several dies and also Graphic 45 paper.
I find that Quietfire stamps go so well with Graphic 45 paper. Here is a close-up of the sentiment:
A big Thank You to Canadian Scrapbooker for having me as a guest blogger today! And thank you for reading the post and seeing my cards! I do hope you enjoyed the cards!
