Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I’ve loved plumeria since I first went to Hawaii in (cough, cough) 1974. I just couldn’t resist Heartfelt Creations Plumeria and their Tropical Paradise Collection.
It just makes me smile. It reminds of Hawaiian leis, beaches and Don Ho’s “Tiny Bubbles” (it was 1974, remember?).
To create the flowers I stamped one set in pink (and one in orange) Clearsnap ColorBox ink. I left everything on the stamp positioner so that I could stamp on top and then emboss once I was done coloring. I embossed with Clearsnap ColorBox clear embossing powder.I coloured the stamps with Stabilo Carbothello chalk pastel pencils. I blended the colours with a blending nib. I did the same thing with the Parrot.
I followed the instructions on the Heartfelt Creations website on how to put together the plumeria. https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/150/ez-steps-to-create-plumerias
I also highlighted the flowers with Ranger Stickles. I placed a Stampn’ Up! rhinestone in the centre of each flower. I edged the flowers in ink when they were done. I layered the elements on a piece of paper from the Tropical Paradise collection. Using Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L Dodz and foam squares to add dimension and height. I used Clearsnap Top Boss and clear embossing powder to add dimension to the “Aloha”.
To finish it off I added twists of gold thread from Stampn’ Up! I adhered the twists with the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Dotz.
I’ve never created a dimensional card like this before. The die cuts and stamps from Heartfelt Creations make it very easy. The Stabilo pastel pencils give everything a soft blended look.
Happy Scrapbooking!
