Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I’ve loved plumeria since I first went to Hawaii in (cough, cough) 1974. I just couldn’t resist Heartfelt Creations Plumeria and their Tropical Paradise Collection. It just makes me smile. It reminds of Hawaiian leis, beaches and Don Ho’s “Tiny Bubbles” (it was 1974, remember?). To create the flowers I stamped one set in pink (and one in orange) Clearsnap ColorBox ink. I left everything on the stamp positioner so that I could stamp on top and then emboss once I was done coloring. I embossed with Clearsnap ColorBox clear embossing powder.I coloured the stamps with Stabilo Carbothello chalk pastel pencils. I blended the colours with a blending nib. I did the same thing with the Parrot. I followed the instructions on the Heartfelt Creations website on how to put together the plumeria. https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/150/ez-steps-to-create-plumerias I also highlighted the flowers…

Cathie Allan here. I just wanted to share a little of my “Christmas Stair Art” with you. I have been creating “Stair Art” with my rubber stamps for many years. I started creating these on 6X6 blocks of wood. I would use my stamps and acrylic paint to create them and I place them in the corners of my stairs. These have always made me smile. Last year I started creating them with Superstock, which I fortify and now they are “so much faster” to create. No prepping of the wood. No waiting for sealer to dry and they look AWESOME. I am sharing a couple of the “older, on the wooden block” ones that I made in previous years (if you look real close you can see that these were done in 1997)and the one that I created this year. This year’s is all done with Impression Obsession Stamps,…
Stamping with your Dies by Cathie Allan Mediums and tools that multi-task always have a special place in my creative heart. I totally enjoy looking at my creative tools, toys and mediums from various sides to see what I can get them to do for me other than the “intended use” suggested by the manufacturer. For this blog post I decided to play with the “Heart Clasp Die” from Art Impressions. This die makes a lovely wrap for a card but by joining two of these dies I was able to wrap my scrapbook page and then of course wrapped my photo. I then took this die a “stamp step” forward by applying ink to the backside of the die I thus was able to use it as a stamp. Look at that die “go”!! To begin I made the Art Impressions, “Heart Clasp Die” perform as a stamp. Apply…
SUCH A HANDSOME “DEXTER” PUPPY! By Cathie Allan Here is a quick and fun layout using some “timeless stamping tools”. I kept the steps for this “altered scrapbook layout” simple and fast. After stamping the “Line Background” stamp from Frog’s Whiskers Ink several times on our Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock (my favorite cardstock for my projects) in Clearsnap ColorBox Blackbird, Fluid Chalk ink I added super quick coloring with my Tombow pens. Quess what? I have been stamping a long, long time and my Tombow pens are years old and still are full of ink and ready to go. The capping system is so good on these particular pens that you will get every bit of ink out of them so long as you put the caps back on. I love this! I did not do any “fancy coloring” I just added color. After that I used my Clearsnap ColorBox…
