Adding sewing products to your scrapbooking and paper crafting creations is definitely a trendy rage right now. It is so easy to add a button here or there, add machine stitching OR simply add a mess of sewing thread! Yes you read the correctly! A mess of sewing thread adhered to your layout is the perfect amount of layered texture without adding any bulk. I first saw this technique way back in the Spring 2015 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, on one of Christy Riopel’s layouts, of course. She was cutting edge way back then. Love it!
Spring 2015 Creative Scrapbooker Magazine
In this issue, Christy wrote and designed, a feature article called “From My Grandmother’s Sewing Basket”.

The article was all about pulling out your sewing baskets and using your supplies on your paper crafting projects. The layouts in this feature are absolutely gorgeous and incorporate all things sewing – from cloth to stick pin containers to spools of thread – Christy took her sewing basket supplies to a whole new level!

Check out the sewing thread mess on this layout.

Here, Christy actually adhered spools of thread to her layout! LA LA LA LOVE IT!

Do you see the circle thingy holding the stick pins? What a fabulous idea! That girl was so creative!

Grab your sewing baskets – if you are like me – I will probably use my sewing supplies on a scrapbook page long before I will actually sew something! Giggle Giggle!
Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.
In loving memory of Christy Riopel – we continue to raise money for the Christy Riopel Art Scholarship. To date – one scholarship has been given through The Boys & Girls club of Calgary. This warms my heart knowing that Christy continues to spread gentle, caring and inspiring love through art in our world. Thank you so much to everyone who donates. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
