Today we are looking back to the Summer 2016 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine where Christy Riopel featured the brayer in her regular Tool Junkie column. Using the brayer as her base tool,  she created three very different projects including this gorgeous, yet extremely simple layout of her daughter Brittany.  Christy created the soft ombre effect you can see on the stamped image aswell as on the photo mat behind the gorgeous photo of Brittany using a brayer, Ranger distress inks and a custom blend distress ink pad. The Project The Supplies Stampin’ Up! cardstock and glossy cardstock, Ranger distress ink and custom blend distress ink pad, Impression Obsession stamp, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Sakura Pigma Micron pen. The Step By Steps – In Christy’s Words I used a blank Custom Blend Distress ink pad as my base. Choose three or so colours of Ranger Distress Ink re-inkers. It works…

Each and every issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine has a number of special features. They can range from being inspired by a famous painter or writer to simple every day things. Crockpots In the Fall 2015 issue we ran a feature on Crockpots. LOL! Yep we did. We asked our readers to send us pictures, projects, cards – whatever – as long as it was inspired by their crockpots. We received a ton of projects and in the end ran out of room in the space we had set aside. Here is Christy Riopel’s take on “Crockpots” for this feature. Unfortunately, it was one of the layouts that did not make it into the Fall 2015 issue. You are seeing it here for the first time. SUPPLIES: Close To My Heart patterned paper, stamps and ink, StazOn ink, Ranger gel pen, Faber-Castell Gelatos and gesso, Beacon 3-In-1 glue. Have a…

Over the years we have shared so many wonderful memories with Christy Riopel whether it be scrapbooking, touring a city, giggling over a tasty meal or simply enjoying the love we all share of ART.  Of all these memories I am most grateful for our TV Show – Technique Tasters that we filmed together in Calgary. After a few years of doing the show we finally convinced Christy to join us and share her creative soul with our online community. I am so glad she said YES! In a very short time we filmed SIX shows – and had soooo many more planned for the future. We have – forever – in our memory boxes these videos of her laughing, creating and teaching us.
