Hey Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Fans! Katelyn Grosart here and I’m excited to be sharing with you my Spring themed project. Spring has arrived here on the coast and the flowers are starting to bloom. So, with Spring in mind, I set out to create my project. By using a variety of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and ink from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful Happy Birthday Card. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I share with you how to recreate my Happy Birthday Card at home.To start, place the 4” Dashing Rectangle die from Elizabeth Craft Designs on a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock also from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Ink the edges of the rectangle piece using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink.
Place the 4 1/2” Dashing Rectangle die from Elizabeth Craft Designs on a piece of patterned paper from the Butterfly Dream Paper Pack also from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Ink the edges of the rectangle piece using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink.
Take the small and medium sized butterflies out of the Butterfly Flourish Die package from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Die cut the butterflies out of White Soft Finish Cardstock from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Repeat the previous step, but this time only die cut the small butterfly.
Die cut the Flourished Frame Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of White Soft Finish Cardstock also from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Blend Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink over the entire frame using a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink.
Die cut the Happy Birthday Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of White Soft Finish Cardstock also from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Blend Worn Distress Oxide Ink as well as Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over the entire word using a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink.
Take the medium leaf out of the package from the Trio of Leaves die from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Place the medium leaf on a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock from Elizabeth Craft Designs and run it through your die cutting machine. Repeat the previous step until you have five leaves. On two of the leaves, blend Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink using a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink. On the other three leaves, blend Forest Moss Distress Oxide Ink using a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink.
Die cut the small centers for the flowers found in the Small Flower Set Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock also from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Die cut the large centers for the flowers found in the Large Flower Set Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock also from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Using a black Scribble Stick from Ranger Ink, water and a paintbrush, colour the centers for the flowers.
From the Large Flower Set Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, choose two large flowers. Die cut one of the large flowers six times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Die cut the other large flower four times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock from Elizabeth Craft Designs. For the six matching large flowers, blend Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink using a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink over the entire surface of each flower. For the four matching large flowers, blend Picked Raspberry Distress Ink using a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink over the entire surface of each flower. From the Small Flower Set Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, choose two small flowers. Die cut one of the small flowers twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
