Happy Tuesday! Kim here with a fun Aloha layout I finished up not too long ago.
Do you ever find a collection of papers and embellishments and immediately know what photo[s] you would use with it? I LOVE when that happens, because thatβs a big part of the creative process taken care ofβ¦sometimes the hardest! This was just the case when I saw the Sun-Kissed collection from Creative Memories!
We were fortunate to get to Hawaii for the very first time in Februaryβ¦this paper pack and matching embellishments screamed ALOHA to me! I instantly knew what I wanted to do with this layout, so it came together quite quickβ¦which is so not my norm!
I started out with a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock, my favourite base to work on. Itβs 110lb cardstock and is a wonderful sturdy base to layer on. I trimmed it down so that I could layer it on top of one of patterned papers to create a border, which always draws the eyes into the story!
I pulled out some Clearsnap ColorBox Chalk Inks and an Art Screen to create some gentle, colour swirls on my background. It adds a little visual interest on the white cardstock.

I had so much fun layering the dimensional embellishments from this collectionβ¦they could not have been more perfect!
As I mentioned, mind had a pretty set plan for this layout right from the start, my title was no different. That big, beautiful Pineapple Pow drinkβ¦needed the ALOHA SPIRITS title! [not to be confused with Aloha Spirit]
The title turned out great! I cut it out four times with my electronic die cutting machine; four from the Superstock and one from the blue patterned paper! I stuck them all together using Tombow Mono Multi adhesive and honestly you would think it was a store-bought chipboard, die cut!

A simple date and location was written with a Creative Memories marker and my βjournalingβ is a photo of the drink ingredients from the menu!
When a collection speaks so strongly to βcreative YOUβ β¦buy it and let your scrapbook page come to life!
Donβt forget, the summer issue of Creative Scrapbooker will be on newsstands June 1st! Get this fabulous issue in your hands! Better yet, subscribe so the next one comes right to your mailbox!

I was just wondering if the drink came with one straw or two?
Love it.
